Why we won't see GoW on PC (at least in 1 year)

Because MS has a stranglehold on Epic. Gears of War is selling XBox360s like hotcakes and MS is loving the current and future dough. If there was a PC version less people would commit to buying a 360 (and subjecting themselves to xbox live) to play it.

Eventually it will come to PC I beleive, but it's going to be a long time coming.

I don't understand the obsession with this game. I played it a good bit in co-op, and it's a good, solid game. It's fun, well made, polished ... but it's not that great. I would give it a 7-8. I mean, even on the 360 there's games like Mass Effect and Bioshock coming out that are probably going to be much better. It's just another action game.

It got a ridiculous amount of hype and had good marketing ... that coupled with the fact that the game doesn't suck is enough I guess.

Compared to the rest of the X360 games, it's stellar. Compared to PC games, it's alright, which is why we have such a hard time seeing what the fuss is about.

So, that means it can be used to sell tons of copies of Vista. MS is going to want some Vista-only PC games besides Halo 2 and Alan Wake. What better game than the grossly overhyped Gears of War?

A great game is a great game. Gears of War, no matter what medium, would've garnered praise, high sales, and its fair share of game of year awards. I don't really see the PC titles out right now that would've made Gears of War any less of an event had it come out on it instead. Obviously as a port, though, it wouldn't make much of an impact. That is almost always the case.

Of course, had it come out on the PC that would've been a blessing for gamers. Imagine all the multiplayer content we'de have by now. Not that I'de be able to play it with my ancient system.

Gears was my fave game of last year. The only thing that came slightly cose was Zelda TP.

I honestly don't care if we ever see Gears on the PC, on paper it sounds alright, but everything about the way you play the game says to me game-pad and television. I guess it would be compatible with the X360 game controller but who really cares? It's already on 360. I guess maybe if you only have a beefy PC but no 360.
