Wich notebook to buy??

my dad wants to buy a dell or alienware notebook
they both are exact same procesor videocard and ram

Personally I would not recommend an Alienware because of their poor warranty coverage.
Then again Dell has their lovely overseas tech support...

alienware has 3 year 24/7 phone and on-site service.

not sure what dell has.

Alienware you can upgrade the vid card (they have a cool system for that)...Dell on the otherhand just plain blows

My friend had an Alienware laptop and they refused to service it when it was clearly not working correctly. A memory issue I believe. Took him half a year to get them to do anything besides talk with them on the phone.

Well, with Alienware, you seem to get the same stuff, just 1k more, I dont know why but thats the way it is. With Dell its 1k less of course. Well, I have a dell desktop, Im very happy with the tech support, even though sometimes they are hard to understand, they help me do stuff I never though was possible lol. Unless your going to college or something, get a damn desktop lol, you will be able to get something better for about $2000 less. But its up to you in the end. Alienware is a great brand and so is Dell, but when you make the same system on both brands the Alienware is always at least $1000 more. Wierd...
