Its the panoramic view that more closely duplicates the perrifiral (sp)vision of the human eyes. however you need to be standing far away from something to see that kind of wide display. That image is extreme. I don't think you can fit that in your field of view at that close of a distance

When you go to the theaters and see a movie its widescreen.

In order not to have half the picture choped off to fit on your T.V. or monitor - you need widescreen

If it was just wider and taller, it would just be the same image enlarged

I think they call it aspect ratio
