Wii $250 or less

Nice.
Although in relatieve terms it's more expensive then the ps3 and x-box 360. If you look at the tehnology.
Weather or not that matters, and weather or not the controller will add much more then raw power to the Wii, and thus making it simply a better decision can be argued about.

Nothing is more expensive than the Ps3.

I could buy a car and small house with the money it's going to cost.

Hyperbole must be your best friend Dek. :dozey:

No big surprise here. Everyone has been expecting a pricepoint right around $199, but if its $225 then that's not too bad either. I still think it might be launched (in the US at least) for $199 since all the other Nintendo consoles were launched there. Of course, they ought to just include Zelda with it and raise the price a little since everyone who gets a Wii will get Zelda without exception!

This means that I am definatly buying the Wii.

No one can talk me out of it. :)

I paid £130 for my Cube and Rogue Leader on release.

Getting a Wii for the same (even without games) would be great news.

What games are there? Can't wait for Light Sabres using that controller! :D

No one knows yet, but surely Zelda is one!

That alone should sell a fargin ton of systems! I can't wait!!!

They're gonna make all their money in the peripherals anyway. The system might cost as low as $200, but the final cost will catch up after you buy the four wii controllers with attachments. That's purely speculative too, but I'm just recognizing the earning potential that Nintendo has in front of them.

Well, firstly they don't lose any money on consoles like the other big 2 concole makers do and most of their money is made from software licensing--and that comes mostly from their insane dominance of the handheld market for so many years. They are all profit and it will be no exception this round. $199 would be music to my ears!

Right now the only peripheral I've seen is the nunchuck attachment and it comes with each controller you get (because it's pretty much a necessity for every game) so as of right now I'm betting it'll run somebody about $350-ish for the Wii, 3 extra controllers and a game (with $200 console price in mind) which is awesome compared to the other systems.

I love the price. Nice and cheap so i get more money for games/accessories.
Definately getting one.

Anything over 300 bucks is not worth it to me for any console. So if there are more people like me, then nintendo wins!

I must say... I am really really glad (and a bit surprised) that Nintendo is getting so much attention. Whats better is that all the attention is well deserved. <3 Nintendo.

Fixed. PS3 fails.
You do know why the 360 is named the 360 and not the x-box 2.
Add to that the fact that hd may need the BR storage space and the fact that the controller is a lot better.

Never owned a console in my life. I thought about getting the PS3 but I am not gonna buy a 600 euro machine + 200 euro for peripherals. The Wii however is getting a lot more interesting now. I might get it.

Any word on how much the wiimotes are going to be?

I guess the cost of a normal gamecube controller, maybe a bit more. I can't see it costing more than £30
