Important Pre-Order Information - U.S. ONLY

GameStop and EB Games stores will begin accepting limited pre-orders for the Nintendo Wii console on Friday, October 13, on a first come, first served basis. Due to extremely limited supply, we expect to reach our limit very quickly, most likely in minutes. We will not accept additional pre-orders at that time. To avoid an unnecessary trip we strongly recommend you call your local store to determine availability. A $50 reservation deposit is required, which can be funded with cash, credit or trade. As we cannot control production and shipping issues by the manufacturer, a reservation deposit does not guarantee receipt of a system available to purchase at launch. Reservations/Purchases are limited to 1 per household.

Our limited online pre-order program will be announced at a later date, after software and accessory availability details are confirmed. Online product pricing and availability will vary and will be fulfilled independent of store reservations.

My local Software Etc. is getting 12 Wii's so I'll definitely be going to the store to be there when it opens at 10am tomorrow.

EDIT: I seem to be making a habit of misspelling damn tread titles...

Nice. I'm not sure if I'd preorder or not. Guess I have until tomorrow to make up my mind.
FYI Firefox has a built in spell checker. :O

Just updated to find none of my extensions or themes work and now I have a massive empty bar at the bottom of Firefox I can't get rid of :(

I pre-ordered mine last week. It was very exciting. My local shop is getting 60 the first week and I got in at about number 55 so I was pretty lucky.

Very OT, but does anybody know how I can get rid of this now that I installed Firefox 2.0?

EDIT: Changing themes, reinstalling, etc don't do anything. That little red arrow in the lower left doesn't even let me click it or do anything with it.

Wow, that looks nasty. My conversion to Firefox 2 RC2 went smoothly. All my extensions work perfectly, but no themes work (as I was warned before updating).

When you reinstalled, did you make sure to do a complete uninstall? Firefox is a bitch as it installs files everywhere. Here is a link to a complete uninstall. If that doesn't work, just install 1.5 again and wait for the final release of 2.0 (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox)

I've got a pal and a US wii ordered now .. just need to find out what the deal with component and 480p is now before deciding on which preorder to keep.

If they are really making double what they thought, I should have no problem supporting Nintendo with my cash this holiday season without a pre-order. :D

I placed my pre-order waaay back at Game. I think I'm number 20 or so in line... so I better call them and ask if they know how many units they will get.

Just got back from the store. Called yesterday and they said they were getting 12. Went 5 minutes before they opened and 6 people were in front of me. After getting to the counter I saw the list and noticed they only had 8 units and not 12. I got the 7th spot on the list :)

While I was waiting in line the phone rang like 10x with people asking about the Wii preorder, one of them complaining as to why he couldn't make a preorder over the phone :p

I don't see the point of a pre-order. I mean, with the amount they say they'll have available, buying a Wii will be about as difficult as buying a toaster.

You have nothing to gain by doing it now. I mean, how many of you have actually tried the thing?

Both of my friends pre-ordered one. I am going to wait and might pick one up at launch day. Maybe go over to their place and try it out first though.

Well the 4,000,000 Wii figure is what they expect to have shipped by the end of the year around the globe. The US gets a smaller chunk of that for launch day. Then there's those of us that live in smaller towns that get limited quantities to begin with.

We have everything to gain from pre-ordering. Now barring some shipping accident I can leisurely walk into my local Software Etc. sometime Sunday morning or afternoon (if I don't end up going midnight on Sat.) and just pick up my Wii without having to camp out and hope I get one.

lol, the first batch isnt too avalible.

I tried to go reserve it an hour after my EB opened and they were already sold out.

VG+ ran out of pre-orders on the first night - I was one of the few that snuck one in. Whether it's needed or not, ordering early gives you peace of mind.
