Will DoD:S look as nice as CS:S?

I've become worried recently. DoD has always been my favorite HL mod, and I was so anxious for DoD:S, but recently I'm getting a little scared that DoD:S will not look as nice as CS:S, kind of like the dissapointing rumors about HL:S. I like CS:S, but one of the main reasons I like it is because of the nice visuals. That's one of the reasons I never really played it before Source. Is anyone else worrying like me, or am I just being stupid?

Totally agree man, I hope it has the same facelift as Counter-Strike: Source had.

They've supposedly already gotten a direct port of DoD working on the Source engine... but they don't want to show screenshots, much less release the game, until they have given it some much-needed plastic surgery. At least, that's the way I understand it...

Apparantly the first release of DoD:S will be with Source enabled effects like water and so forth, but at later updates they will change the models/textures etc.,

Source of news please... :|

For those of you who've missed the boat, all the most popular maps will be ported over using the same graphical overhaul seen in some Source maps.

Everything will apparently change later.

I read this link twice and it is unclear if DOD Source will look as good as CS Source. They definitely said the maps in CS source were newly created meaning they were not a direct port. So it is quite possible that a direct port won't look near as nice as new maps. Mind you, I don't know this for a fact but it is a logical presumption that a map created in a new engine should look better than a map ported from an older engine into a newer engine. I suppose there will be a lot of new maps added quickly precisely for that reason. I hope I am wrong on this. But if you read that article carefully they did say that the CS maps were newly created.

Don't forget that after a map has been ported it can then be upgraded, meaning they can alter the architecture, debris, layout, etc... So basically just because something is ported doesn't mean it will not be recieving a full face lift. Time will tell.
