will HL run in custom aspect ratio (PORTRAIT)

for my tablet pc, will hl2 be able to run in a custom aspect ratio to fit the portrait style position of the screen? i have a 1450x1050 lcd which can be rotated. i tried maximizing the window and various strange things occurred, what should i do?

There are some params you can put on your hl2 shortcut to set a custom resolution. I think they are '-w 1280 -h 1024' or '-width 1280 -height 1024'.
