Will I get on holiday intime?

As the title suggests, I will be going on holiday in the States and will be leaving on the 27th of this month, however there is to be industrial action (Strike) at gatwick airport (where I'm supposed to set off from) starting from the 25th onwards (Cheaky Bast*rds).

Considering I've got a stop off at New York for one and a half days, do you reckon I'll be able to see it, or will are flight be delayed so we don't get to see it and fly off to are main destination?

Baggage Handlers, and some other personnel (Forgotten there work names) will be going on strike at Heathrow and Gatwick, Reason God only knows
