Will it ever be fixed?

Hey, I'm one of those people with the good old stuttering problem, Ive been living with it, but its getting pretty bad as the levels get....denser. I get silky smooth Framerates when im not turning a new corner of firing a new gun though.

2.4 ghz p4
512 meg ram
radeon 9700 pro

Ive browsed these and many forums, and from what I can tell, there is no fix yet. Just wondering if I missed something, and the problem is fixed, or if Valve is ever going to release a fix for it.

Another gig? heh. I might try another 512. But I have the reccomended ram for HL2, I shouldnt be having this problem...

I had 256 and up'd it to 768 and that got rid of my stutter problems. I don't see valve solving the problem anytime soon since there really isn't a common problem between all users with the stutter.

Hmm, you know that does seem like a fix, if valve wont. Unfortunatly for me, I bought a dell, and even worse, I bought it during the RDRAM craze. Looks like ill have to drop another 220 bucks to play HL2 smoothly. Oh well, worth it for me
