I have really been anticipating the release of Half-Life 2 as I'm sure everyone else has aswell. Can you give me your opinion on if i will even be able to run it, or if i should just build/buy a new computer.

System Specs:
998 Mhz Intel Pentium 3
1024 x 768 in 32-Bit Color, Intel(R) 82830M Graphics Controller
375 MB RAM
Windows XP Professional

That's about all that I can find, let me know if you need more

You should definitely pick up a new video card and your processor is a bit outdated. They're now saying 1.2 ghz is the min spec for processor.

Hahaha...

It should be able to run it, but you won't get any of the goodies. I would not recommend that system if you want to sit down and enjoy it as VALVe intended it to be played.

Get a new computer.

btw, some people might tell you to use the search button, myself included. ;)

That computer will not run HL2 at playable framerates, even at the lowest of quality.

Minimum specs are a 1.2ghz cpu. Recommended specs would be somthing like a 1.6 ghz machine.

rent a pick up truck, crash the back end into a internet cafe, and steal like 6 comps, then format, resell. keep one for yourself.

Onboard laptop graphics aren't known for their blistering graphics performace - infact the intel chipset you have is less powerful than a TNT - and worse, your system can't rely on a fast CPU to keep the game flowing .... for Half-Life 2 i'd seriously reccommend a desktop machine, unless you want to fork out about £1,400 on a laptop with a mobility radeon 9700 and a 3.2ghz mobile p4.
