I sold my old copies of half life, opposing force and blue shift years but I still have the saved games for each one. I plan to buy the half life anthology on steam soon. If I was put the old saved games into the right folders etc Would they still work?

They probably won't work. Gold Source engine has been updated a lot on Steam. Also Blue Shift (I don't know about Opposing Force) on Steam isn't Gearbox's build.

When you go on Steam, be sure to download Half-Life and not Half-Life: Source. Then it should theoretically work, but don't count on it.

it really should work, unless the programs use a different format for saving, and since the industry standard is .sav, its very likely to work, no matter what you but, although a hl2 save wont run in say gmod, its a different program, the same program will read it correctly, so its yes.
