Well.. my video card just burned out after 4 years(PURPLE LINES EVERYWHERE!?!?!) so i'm in desperate need of a new card. I was thinking since i'm getting a new card, I should probaly get a pretty new one to run the newer games so I don't have to waste money upgrading in a year. I looked through the newer cards and it seems like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130274 would be my best bet. It's pretty expensive, but not as expensive as the top of the line cards and it doens't run much worse.

The thing is would it be worth getting this card with my current mobo and processor? I currently have an ASUS A7N8X NForce2 mobo with an AMD 2800+ XP processor. Should I go with an older line of cards like the 6800? Any help is appreciated.

Edit : Forgot to mention I have 1GB of PC3200 RAM.

nah it shouldnt be a bottleneck. so many people worry about those things. the card should work perfectly fine

depends on the game, if its a very cpu intensice game it will. it wont matter anyway. even if you do get a bottleneck i doubt you'll even notice it. the card and memory will handle everything fine

Yeh alot of people worry about it, it bottlenecks if its 1.5Ghz or below :P (in Intel pentium terms)

eh what makes you say thats better then the evga??? evga is cheaper and has better customer support.
1.) The clock rates are higher on the XFX
2.) XFX is currently the best selling GeForce vendor on the market and backs their whole 7xxx line with a double lifetime warranty (warranty for both you and the person that you might sell it to in the future).

And I assume that if your going to remark that evga has better customer support, that you've had to deal with both XFX and Evga's support people?
o.O
