will this card run crysis better then...

a 7800GT? my 7800Gt has a 256 memory interface
The card I want to buy has 128mem interface though does that make any difference? the core speed and mem speed are so much higher so the 8600GT
should be much better right?

Just wait for a 8800GT instead; performance better than the current 640MB GTS yet cheaper, or you could wait for the (rumoured) 65nm version of the 8800GTS.

The 8600 GT/GTS is usually significantly less powerful then a 7800 or 7900, the 8600GT is around a little more powerful then the 7600 GT. Replacing a 7800GT with a 8600GT would be a noticeable downgrade in performance, which would far outweigh in my opinion, the ability to turn on a couple DX10 options.

dx10 performance in crysis is a bit suspect right now with poor driver support leading to some very sloiw frame rates on most systems.... i can run is rather smooth in dx9 though so its not worth it.

My setup barely ran Crysis at 17-20 FPS (According to Fraps) when everything was set to high and 16X AA. Both 1680x1050 and 1024x768.

Very disappointed.
