I've never even heard of it. Personally I wouldn't get anything besides Nvidia or ATI unless there is a lot of evidence that something else is better.

That is a graphics card for designing purposes. I don't think that would be a wise purchase for HL2... I didn't see a price but I bet that is really expensive..

It's more for professional 3D rendering and animation, not gaming.

That's some nice made up crap on that site. All that stuff doesn't even exist...so obviously, not a real card...although I'm sure you were joking anyways so...

First off its pci express i'd stay awy from those till atleast thier 2 nd or 3rd generation(too expensive and very little preformance boost) also like neutrino said ur better off sticky with Nvidia or ATI.

For the love of god people, it's not a real video card.

"Innovative 256 GB virtual memory support shatters the limits of onboard memory by automatically handling huge datasets while caching essential data for fastest access"

That's right off the site. 256 GB of memory!? wtf is that? The most out now is 256 MB.

Some people...

It probably is a real card, but It is a card for professional 3D design. If you want the best performance for gaming, just stick with a high end nvidia or ati video card.

That says virtual memory, basically that means that it can use 256GB of Harddrive space for storing textures and what not. I guess that is what it means. It could also just be a typo.

If all those specs are true that is one hell of a graphics card, but like so many others said its probably not a mass cunsumer product.

omg. I didn't even finish my poll and I got 8 respones. WOW.

probably a error, but its high end one has 640 MB, this thing easily cost 2k i bet

its obviosuly for design purpose, but could u use it for gaming?

Yup............

# 640MB GDDR3 total memory.

* 512MB GDDR3 unified memory with 512-bit-wide interface bus
* 128 MB GDDR3 DirectBurst memory with 128-bit-wide interface bus

Ya those are the kinds of cards that are used for doing the computer graphics in major Hollywood movies, or for developers doing professional modelling and rendering and movie making for games.

My bad.

Looks like this card does exist. *shrugs*

EDIT: apparently the card costs $2,799 USD

Oh, By The Way Guys. This Was A Joke. Haha
I WOULD LOVE TO buy this card mainly because I am a designer.

oh, also the names of those cards on the poll are correct. so before you say that there isn't a x600. Think again. Cause there is also a x300

We realize that but still the question remains, if u had 3k to spend on a graphics card could u use it for gaming( sry i'm not a big pc nerd so i wouldn't know).

*The Mullinator checks his bank account
Hmmm... Maybe if I use my tuition money and skip first year university I could...

Oops.

* Sticks foot in mouth*

guess there is a x600, i never knew that.

I wouldn't buy any of the cards in your poll. Especially not the 3D Labs one. (Yes, it's a real card. Worth buying? For your average joe, no way. Complete waste of money.)

Why wouldn't I buy a card in your poll? Because I already have an X800. I'm ready for HL2! Muahahaha!

Now if only the game would come out. Darn. Already finished Doom 3. :(

will a geforce 4 ti 4400 run hl2 pretty good?

Well gamespy said that thier ti4600 ran Doom3 at 800x600 at high settings pretty good, however Doom 3 is a more graphics card intensive game while HL2 is more CPU and RAM intensive

Completely untrue. True, the physics calculations would be CPU intensive (but hey, D3 had physics too), but there are alot of graphical features that are GPU intensive. Shaders would be the biggest that comes to mind.

thats a workstation card. its not for playing games its for rendering 3d and such.

Which ass moved my post? Don't move stuff until you fix your forums guys. how many times do we have to say that?
If you can't move it without leaving a copy of it in the same folder that it was posted in, then simple don't do it at all. thanks.

Check the general discussion forum. When a thread is moved it leaves a link on the forum it was moved from directing you to its new location.

Theese things are mainly for opengl style work they have pretty waff directx implementation.

First off dont call any mods asses. I moved your thread because it was in the wrong forum, i moved it to where it should be. We dont need to fix our forums, you need to look around a little before you make a post, keeping the forums neat and tidy is my job.
