Will those weird orb things be able to kill a gunship?

I've gotten to the prison yard and facing those two gunships and a million combine and I'm just fed up with it. If was somehow able to get one of those orbs to hit a gunship do you think it would work? I mean I do have two of them

use the rocket launcher? And yes they do hurt the gunships.

I think he means the grenades used by the Pulse rifle.
For me, those didn't seem to do enough damage to the Gunships to make a
difference. I still ended up using the rocket launcher.

Just use the rocket launcher, those orbs are too hard to hit them with. Incase you didn't know, farther down there's a rocket supply crate.

yea, isnt there quite the abundance of rocket ammo? iirc i never had a problem with rocket ammo

I know I use rockets, I know about the crate, I've done it all over and over again very many times.

Was just wondering if the orbs are able to kill the gunships, which apparently only hurts them.
