I allways go by Sgt.Die in all my online gaming. Have since Q3. Before that I jumped around names every other week. This is the only one that stuck. My brother goes by MOBSTER.
Its so confusing with different names. And I dont really see the point. I have had my nick for like 6 years now, same in every forum and game I play. Except my own forum, oddly enough :rolling:
i think I will actually.
I used to play in Australia as a nonsence name "Plas"
Then I moved to live in the Netherlands and the name Plas means 'piss' here... so I think I had better change it. hehehe
People that use different nicknames for IRC, forums and online games and stuff like that are so annoying. People that change nickname is also annoying. Why don't you stick with one?
Well, I never use tewmten in fps games, 'cos people that uses voicecom doesn't know how to say my nick.. So I just go with hotdog 'co everyone can say hotdog
Well I've been using Nightcrawler for about 4 years since I realised how few people can pronounce Daedalus over a mic. It's a bit annoying now though since X2 there are about 5000 other nightcrawlers running around. Maybe I should change it back to Daedalus or use Jeff the god of biscuits or something.
I've been Typhon for 5 years now...and I don't plan on switching. I just wish everyone would stop calling me Typhoon. My name is not Typhoon. I know how to spell.
Free ice cream to anyone who knows what/who Typhon is.
edit: when I say who Typhon is, I don't mean ME! lol
Have been using Roach as a nickname since I was 9 y/o or so, started when I played this stupid game where you had to squash roaches and then eggs popped out and hatched new roaches and you had to squash them again etc etc. I used Roach for the high-score table.
I use Ro@ch or Ro@cH as an alternative when plain Roach is already taken (reminds me, i got funny pm's from 'Roach' telling me to change my nickname cause I was a lame nickstealer...tch)
Been using Mac since cs beta3. so thats like 4 years ago. all the people ive played with since wouldnt know who the f' i am if i changed my name. No point in changing your name unless your trying to hide from something, imo.
on a side note: why the hell wont my signature appear? its supposed to show my system specs.
Acutally this is a fine thread , it just seems to be the popular thing to do to call a thread stupid and jump on the bandwagon.
I used to change names fairly often , sometimes they get old or too common or someone thinks they mean something else. Ive stuck with DimitriPopov for a while. Hes a charecter from Rainbow Six who almost helps destroy the world and when he finds out whats going on saves it (biological weapon attack). Plus its really uncommon , so Ill stick with it for a while. Its also neat when someone knows who he is because hes not in the game.
I started out with Raptor, but that was common, so I switched to Paradox. That name I kept for a few years (and I still have it on some forums), but it too was fairly common. I wanted a name that was less common that would somehow describe me, so I chose synth (all lowercase, and it's NOT Synthetic, or anything after synth. Like don't call me SynthLawnMower or anything. That's just dumb.)
I've been using Flyingdebris or Flyingdebrisguy for every game for the past 5-6 years. Ever since I installed a $7 copy of the 3DO version of road rash on an old 166 mhz computer
