God no. Buying games on release is idiotic in most cases. I'll wait till I hear reviews, for the price to drop and for fan-patches to come out that fix everything the developer is going to **** up.

That said, I also won't be doing this because I haven't played Darksiders 1. Is there a demo for it?

I don't think there's a demo but you should pick it up for 2.5$ during the summer sale. It's a good game.
