Simple question really... are you willing to participate in a dishonest line of work to make money, or are you the type who would rather just refuse the money because you don't want to have to be dishonest to people or lie to them.

Even though I'd like the money and need the money, I've found myself in a few positions where I was offered to do some side jobs and things where it was less than honest. Nothing illegal though of course. I simply refuse. I seem to have some biased hatred against dishonesty when it comes to working, and I find myself unwilling to do it at all. I need to have a sense of credibility and moral legitimacy in what I do.

There are tons of people who will take the other road though either because they have no choice or they just have fewer scruples. I'm probably in the minority on this.

My dad's new wife got suckered in(and dragged my dad into) this MLM scheme... and she's trying to make money off it and buying shit to make profit that isn't actually being turned around into profit(big surprise there), and they want me to help with it. And I'm just always telling myself, "No ****ing way... I'm not participating in this bullshit... it's ridiculous."

It really depends what you mean by dishonest. Because all businesses are dishonest in varying degrees.

I would rather work for a dishonest company than a company that supports sweatshops like Nike or something. But dishonest business and sweatshop running businesses probably run hand in hand.
 
Well I'd never go into one of those pyramid schemes, but it depends on the job.. If it's something stupid like 'your hair will grow in 2 days with this powder', and I'd actually make decent money off that, I'd do it, although if I got minimum wage, I'd tell them to go **** themselves.. It really depends on the pay/job ratio.

I'd be willing to do anything for the right price. Except gay stuff.
 
Yea, the guarantee of a heaven (and proof).

It's a ridiculously high price, but I still have a price for suicide.

Yea.. Billion dollars, I'd do it when she had a 'down' period of her disease (no warts or anything) you can't catch the disease through oral contact, that's why they call it sexually transmitted.

For the record Dog, for the sake of your health, you can contract an STD from mouth to genital contact.

There are many cases of genital warts of the throat. Also, you ever get a cold sore? Lots of people get cold sores, they are actually a form of the Herpes Simplex Virus, and if you happened to have a cold sore at the time you were to give someone oral, depending on the strain of virus you had you could actually spread it to their genitals giving them Herpes.

STD's are spreadable to any open orifice on the body and even other spots as well (Face, Thighs, Side, etc).
For example there is a case where a guy was eating out his girlfriend and then accidentally rubbed her vaginal fluid into his eye when he itched it, it caused him to get genital warts of the eye.

Also, just because the infected person is not in an outbreak stage does not mean you wont contract the disease, it's only slightly less likely. Also consider if you were eating her out you would get her fluids in your mouth, AIDS is not a skin STD but the fluids would cause you contract the HIV. But in the case of Genital HPV (Genital Warts), or Herpes, both the skin and the fluids can cause infection.

Yeah see I can't tolerate that shit. I simply will not do it. I have tons of vices, and I'm no saint, but it's against my character to want to lie and deceive people to benefit my employer. I like to know I'm doing an honest job, and being honest and entirely truthful to people.

Somebody brings in a computer and it's a quick simple fix? I won't lie to them and tell them it's going to be a tough one to repair, hold the computer for a while and give it back later for lots of money. I simply will not do it. I REFUSE. Fire me if you want to, you ****heads, but I'm not going to do this.

Exactly. Thats why I sucked as a freelance artist, because I couldnt bring myself to lie about how much time I spent of things. My friends who did freelance work would charge 15 hours for 10 hours of work. I would charge like 9 hours for 10 hours of work, because I wouldnt even charge for technical hiccups and if I spent an hour on figuring out why something wasnt working, then I felt it was my own fault, so I didnt charge them for it. Man I suck.

All those "get-rich-quick" schemes are scams too. Even if your parents miraculously makes any money from it, they could probably expect a visit from the IRS in the very near future.

Tell your dad and step mother to quit while they still have a reputable credit score. (If applicable. They're probably already screwed.)

What if one of their customers sues for some insane amount? You'd lose you Xbox, your PC, your car (if you have one), your Santa suit, and probably even you undies.

I wouldn't lose anything. I bought my Xbox and my PC.

And besides, they're not in any illegal multi level marketing thing. They're just in it thinking it thinking it'll return an investment, and it won't. It's called AmeriPlan. They're not doing anything they can get sued over. They're just trying to sell these AmeriPlan insurance type things and get other people to sell for them.

Though I say them, really it's my dad's wife who is doing it. She has some bogus view of how money is made in life, and spends tons of money on get rich quick scheme books and dvds and... even hundreds of dollars on ****ing "Rhino Boot Camp" seminars.

Bitch spends too much money! If it was just her money it wouldn't bug me, but they're always having to borrow money from my brother to pay the bills.

Because he is Korean. And Raz, make sure you dont end up getting caught up in it. My cousin is in a similar situation where his mom keeps spending money on stupid shit, and not having enough to pay for bills. He and his brothers are giving her a lot of their money so they can keep the house, but he is fed up with her spending habits, and is moving out soon, leaving her to deal with it. You cant let them become dependent on you and your brother, or else you will either be stuck paying for everything for them, or you will come to a point where you'll be forced to cut them off, and they'll be ****ed because they dont have any money saved and dont know how to manage it.

Don't worry. I am the most cynical person I know in my family. I am 'almost' immune to bullshit like this. I say almost, because I can't be 100% sure in the future... but as I said, I'm a huge cynic and am very skeptical of stuff like this... almost everything I see, I consider it entirely bullshit until I research it.

When I get myself to a point where I'm actually earning income, I'm definitely going to be sure to voice myself a bit more. At this point in time, I can't really be the one to complain because I don't contribute anything. When I do get money, I will move out and voice myself more. It's a good thing though that my dad is somewhat skeptical of many new things too, so he sort of keeps his new wife from getting too crazy with it, but she's a ****ing insurance agent, and she gets suckered into a lot of this stuff waaay more than she should.

I mean who in the **** will pay 200-500 dollars for a god damn seminar on how to make money? Jesus Christ.

:p Not serious of course though... I do stuff for my family for free, computer stuff... but I tell you, it's really starting to wear me out. It's gotten to the point that I despise doing computer repairs and maintenance for free. Plus I hate the stress of when I encounter a problem I've never seen before and can't really do much to fix it.
 
I'm not a huge computer guy either, but I know most about computers in my family, so I'm also the first person they come to with tech problems. I mostly always end up solving it, but I still get really pissed when they call me down from say, playing guitar or something (when I'm in the middle of a song), and ask 'oh y disnt dis werk?' and I say 'Turn it on.'...

It's always some extremely simple problem, which is why it pisses me off so much.

It's just that I feel strongly about the fact that she's not my mother, she's not my step mother, my step mom, my step parent, or anything. She just happens to be a woman my dad married and an occasional friend and frequent nemesis.

At this point, yes. I'm down to a few hundred dollars after buying groceries yesterday. No employer seems to be willing to give me a chance. I need a job immediately.

My brother thought he could live on his own, and my parents knew he couldn't so one day he got all pissed and just stormed out.

2 months later he was on welfare, only had about 1 meal every other day, and had no furniture AND he even had a roommate since day one.

He called my mom and apologized and has been living here ever since.

I thought it was funny (true story, btw).

Virus's post reminded me of that occurrence.

I haven't missed any meals, in fact I'm eating quite well, trying to gain some weight. But I have missed quite a few rent payments, which is causing tremendous strife.

lol, it was actually pretty funny, he lived in an apartment, but it was in the seedy side of town, he lived above an actual real crackhouse, people would smoke crack below him. lol.

Then he comes back and starts acting all high and mighty because he thinks he made it on his own or something.. lol. I just told him "You were basically a hobo for a month" (his first month was fine, that's when his money started drying up)
