Windows doesn't detect my sound card

I've just installed my old Matrox Millenium G400 on my old comp, (PIII 650), I've installed the drivers, and I noticed there wasn't any sound... I checked in the device menager window, and my sound card doesn't appear! What's the problem?

edit: the sound card is a SoundBlaster Live!

Does the motherboard have any onboard sound? If so, you'll want to disable it (either through BIOS or Device Manager)
