Windows explorer crash

Whenever I load a game of CS: S, my windows explorer would crash no matter what I did ingame.

I tried adjusting the settings, except for the level of DX (which was greyed out). Even the default autoconfiged settings caused the same problem.

I tried reinstalling the drivers (clean installation, used driver cleaner and all the random hassle) too.

Other DX9 games worked fine without crashing explorer.

I'm using a r9700pro with catalyst 4.9, win XP, 512mb ram

Anyone else facing a similar problem, or have any idea on how to fix this annoying problem?

Weird. Do you mean it just crashes as soon as you launch css, or during play or when you exit?
Anyway, heres what i would try (first to last):
1 install older drivers
2 reinstall cs
3 reinstall windows
4 email valve

Oh. Whenever I quit CS: S, it would do the usual blackout flashing thing to the desktop, and then I would be greeted with an error msg saying my explorer crashed.

I think I'll rollback to my previous driver to try it out again. Or at least, reinstall CS, but as for reinstalling windows... heh, probably not anytime soon, too much of a hassle.
