.. dunno if anyone else has experienced this and can help, but I stream quite a lot of stuff via WWW (On the spot, BBC newcasts, etc) and recently (in both IE & FF) I'll open the popup with the WMP player in it, it'll flicker for a second and just stop and 'ready'. Everytime I click play thereafter it'll just keep saying 'ready' and won't buffer or anything.
If I right click on the player and click 'Error Details' I get this: Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported. If you typed a URL in the Open URL dialog box, try using a different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:").
Now I've tried everything, including upgrading WMP from 9 to 10, copying the asx url into a standalone version of WMP and nothing seems to work.
Anyone heard of this problem and know a sollution?
