nice! you're entering this into the mapping contest right?

looks very polished and good atmosphere. i especially like that brushwork for the vertical glass window in the first pic.
 
Its getting pretty late to enter the contest and I dont have time right now to finish it up for the deadline so you guys will see this as a custom map someday :)
 
You still have 25 days, although I think it needs to be on a CD/DVD in Valve by then.

Can't wait to get playing, and chance of a few more screenshots?
 
Hmm my personal opinion is lose the UT lighting, though some have said they like it, I'd change the red to be more subtle. The pitted floor area looks inconsistent with the material, it seems like it'd look better as a small brush converted into a displacement map. The hallway seems overly bright considering the central room seems to have the same lights. The pipes in the central room, are they prop_statics ? it seems like the ones closest to us in the picture aren't lit properly. And the wire mesh texture seems like it wouldn't hold the players weight, maybe if it was just scaled down a bit more it'd work, or another style of grating.

Anyway just nitpicks there, looks very good, hard to say how it will play but definitely looks nice.
 
I'd say great looking map. I was just getting excited to build my map again, and then I saw yours and realized how much I dont' know... Thanks.

Oh well, I'll get mine done someday and by then I'll hopefully be able to make it as nice as this.

Lighting's improved, but I agree with Cunebelin on the wiremesh texture. Also the floor textures wither side of the wiremesh (not the trims) are misalligned slightly.

Otherwise looking nice!
 
Man you should really try mapping for Unreal series games. If you want to do something crazy, wild, Unreal, that's where you want to be.
 
Looks awesome, except dome lights dont project light like that ;)

Oh, and any chance you'll put it up for download before the judging and whatnot?
 
skdr, your one of the few that understands lighting, damn good job!! Take your time man, Ill through it up on the linux box as soon as its done. Keep up the awsome work man.
 
looks very nice. but i think HL2DM maps are really hard to tell how good they're gonna be until you play on em! it's all about what you can throw with the grav gun! ;)
