[WIP] Head Sickness and Introduction map Release

Ive been working on this series for about a month and a half and have learned alot during my work. As my introduction map to the series is now complete Ive decided to release it so I can know how it fares with everyone. And I am open to suggestions.

And yes the lights are a bit "green" Im messing with the colors to find the right "feel" for dingy and dimly lit.


Also bare in mind that these are beta shots that I took quite awhile ago, Ive added more detail and did some tweaking since then.



I just uploaded the introduction map onto Hl2files.com so I'll post a link to it when it gets put up.

In your second map, it would be cool if you have a few of the "corpse drawers", for lack of a better word, rolled open, and have zombies on a few of em. It would make for a good suprise to have a seemingly dead zombie "wake up" as you walked past, if it fits the theme of your map.

Your maps look promising :)
 
Alot of Half-Life standard geometry in those pics. Especially the circles on the floor, very polygonal.
 
The Full story is found in the README: You are part of Combine Metropolice and the leading member of your squad sent to investigate Ridge Haven, an abandoned sanitarium set on the outskirts of Browns Woods, exactly 2 miles from City 11.
There have been reports of the headcrabbed undead using the abandoned sanitarium ground as a type of nest and there have been several odd accounts of them making the journey from their respected location all the way to the outskirts of City 11 and terrorizing citizens. Normally the Combine MetroPolice dont bother hunting down hostiles outside city limits, but stranger reports of the undead actually kidnapping several people has forced the Combine to investigate this strange behavior. A scanner was sent to Ridge Haven and sent several strange photos back to HQ before being destroyed. From further evidence from the scanner photos the Combine have come to the conclusion that there is another "entity" in control at RideHaven and is seen as a possible threat to them and City 11. You and your squad are to make your way to Ridge Haven, reactivate the generators and make your way into the main building. Once inside you are to clear out any hostiles met and further investigate where the scanner left off which was in the basement of the main building.

And regarding zombies in the corpse filing cabinets :P, the first version of the sanitarium is meant to look empty and sortof "empty" with the exception of a few headcrabs and zombies scattered about trying to prevent you from getting deeper into the sanitarium. When you are thrown into the alternate reality of the sanitarium thats the true "nest" of the headcrabs and you'll start seeing things pop out of the strangest places.

Yeh sorry mate, Im waiting too lol, I uploaded it onto hl2files and waiting for it to be put up. I tried hosting it here but theres a 2mb limit... and the intro map is 2.85mb
 
Looks promising indeed. A bit more detail would be good though - it looks a bit neat and tidy for an abandoned building. I like that Matrix-y green light in the morgue btw, though I'd suggest toning down the saturation of the colour a little.

At last - some SP work! About time.
