Wireless connection without a wireless hub or router?

Can you possibly connect lets say a console to your computer, wirelessly, without a wireless router or hub?? If so, how can it be accomplished? Thank you.

Look into something called ad hoc mode.
I doubt a console can do it though, but 2 computers can connect wirelessly to eachother using ad hoc.

I was thinking of bridging my two ethernet cards together, creating sort of a mini-hub. It's a long shot but it might work but...probably not.

OK wait..I think I got it. I want to hookup the X360 to my computer with the wireless adapter so, here's what I think I should do:

Go buy the X360 usb adapter. Buy a wireless PCI card for my computer. Configure it correctly and that will transmit from my PC to the X360 wireless adapter, to the XBOX 360. I believe that's how it should work.
