I Have a "MS Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0", and it works realy good, its got the side scrolling thing which I use to peak around corners in Raven Shield and AA. It also gives me a real good reaction time in gaming, much better than my old crappy standard cicero crapmatic 5000

I voted wireless, I'm ordering an MX700 as we speak.. my (wired) Intelli Mouse Optical is dying

I bought a blue microsoft 'bluetooth enabled' optical mouse a while ago.. suffice to say it ran like a piece of shit. The tracking was ultra slow and not what I expected at all. I took it back and bought a wired optical, which to this day has run fine.

every wireless mouse i have ever used has been utter crap for gaming...including several microsoft and logitech. They always mess up somehow.

Im usin a wireless right now, its alright, doesnt get caught in cords and whatnot. but i still like my old wired mouse for a couple reason, it doesnt use batteries (not a big deal) its much lighter (good for playin DC) and its not as wide (also good for DC) I might try an get one of the smaller lighter ones ive seen, those would be nice.

Wired optical.

It's cool because it fits my hand perfectly and the mouse wheel is lit up with a blue light. I also like the thumb button on the side. Good for reloading and such or "Back" while internet browsing.

i agree. i have one just like it.

Usin a wired optical mouse, a MS Explorer I think, cost me a bunch. Also it took awhile to get used to, coming from a huge Logitech Wireless than weighed a ton to the Explorer which is light as hell. I voted wireless cause the wire gets in the way with alot of mice I use, but this one's cool.

I have two side buttons on the left, the big one's double-click (I'm lazy) and the little one's hide all (show desktop - for those uh... awkward moments :P).

I've almost smashed mouses into the wall because of that f*cking cord. It's just really annoying.
Wireless mouses are also nice and heavy (batteries), not one of those crappy lightweight plastic things.

A wireless mouse is ok for most things - but not online FPS. Seeing as that's my thang it's wired all the way :)

I've had wireless mice for a few years, and most of the games I play are online FPSs. Maybe I've avoided the bad ones or I'm just lucky, but I've never been able to tell the difference between this and my wired one, nor has anyone else.

I use a wired MS optical trackball explorer. it took a little while to get used to, but now i love it and will never go back to a regular mouse. my only complaint is that the little metal thingies that hold the ball in place get dirty fairly frequently, but cleaning them is as easy as just taking the ball out (flipping the thing upside down, it falls out) and wiping them with a tissue... or my finger if i'm lazy. plus, whenever a friend comes over and tries to play a FPS, i always look much better than them cause nobody uses trackballs... heheh

Wires can be a bit annoying when they get tangled with my other wires but really they are fine and much cheaper. The main thing is to make sure u lose the ball mouses, although it was fun to clean them :P

Optical is best..but thats not the topic, im just refering to badgers post :p But yeah it was fun to clean them :D

I havent voted yet, but i can see why a wireless mouse has its drawbacks. I have a wireless mouse and keyboard. Ive noticed that since getting them, i make more spelling mistakes when typing and its almost like having lag in games. Its weird because, when i first got the mouse, i played worse in games, but ive since improved and now i play at the same level i used to....who knows what il be like with a wired mosue and keyboard?:)

A few days ago

"Mum, the mouse is buggered, i'll get a new one when i get paid"

"Ok"

/me goes to work

/me comes home

Where is the mouse?

"Hi Murray, i went and got a new mouse today!"

"Cooool show me it"

"Oh. Its wireless. With a ball. Thanks Mum "

"It's ok :)"

I couldn't get the damn thing to work for an hour, the instructions forgot tell me you have to press a button on the receiver (which is black, like the reciever and is flush with the case) and on the mouse itself. 10 reboots and a fiddle about later, the mouse works.

Its not too bad, the battery issue will be annoying, and i would have much preferred an optical mouse cos balls always seem to get dirty in my study

It kind of ruins it when you ask people to quote it :(

Quickly! No-one saw the change :)

My MX700 just shipped.. I'll be the judge soon enough if the MX700 holds up to its praise!

I've never had a wireless mouse, only a keyboard. The keyboard was pretty crappy, I ended up returning it

I have a microsof wireless optical that is sitting in my desk drawer, right now I am using a $20 logitech wired optical.

I was going through a shitload of batteries with the wireless so I said fukx it.

Wireless has its drawbacks. Lag can be pretty noticable between wired and wireless.
Also batteries, some like it heavy some don't care but having to buy batteries can be a pain.
But the MX700 fixed pretty much all of that. btw I have a MX700 and I would recommend it for just about anything except competition gameplay. For me, that would mean I would switch to my wired mouse if I was to play in a league or match. General playing is fine for me.

Mice need their tails! It is fun to cut them off though... but then they don't function properly.

I use an Intellimouse Explorer 3.0A. And yes, I just looked on the bottom of it to find that out. The red light hurt my eyes.

I had a nice intellimouse explorer optical at one time. But somehow I ended up smashing it with my fist because the buttons kept sticking.

Wasn't as bad as the old Dell computer we had, I took a piece off my desk and smacked the ba-jesus out of it.

Technology makes me angy.

Get wired. Its just dumb to be playing a game and run outta batteries in the middle of the night and cant do anything about it. :/

That's what a charger is for silly. Any wireless mouse w/out one is running a risk of just that.
Charge it every night and it is good as new for the rest of the day.

I don't get the point of a wireless mouse. It's useless because you can't see the screen from further then 3 feet away anyway. Might as well have a wire.

The point of a wireless mouse is to free up desk space. It is also good cause the dirrty trackball doesn get...dirrty.

Since when wireless = no trackball?

The two things are totally unrelated. I have a wired optical mouse as do many other people.

There are wireless ball mice...

Wireless is for those who run into problems with wires. If you don't you see it as pointless which maybe it is.
Deskspace for one. Has there ever been a time you wanna just push that keyboard aside and use your desk as a desk? Or if you play any flight sim games where you wanna get that keyboard off the desk to make room for your joystick. And probably the most popular...do you ever get cought on something or run out of cord moving your mouse or keyboard?
