I'm a bit of a newb regarding wireless networking, but I've decided now is as good a time as any to set up a wireless network in my house. I've decided that 54mbps is more than enough for my needs for a good while, so the 108mbps stuff isn't even an option for me.

The router I've just purchased is this one:

And I've purchased two network cards, namley these:

My first question is a simple enough one... are they compatable? I mean they're both 802.11g, but one's D-Link and the other is Netgear.

Also, how difficult are wireless networks to set up (and secure)?

The networks arnt too hard to set up, i mean I set mine up for the first time in about 10 mins. You have to enable the encryption though, to make them secure. I would use WEP encryption at least, WPA shared key is safer though I think so if you can use that instead. You may also want to disable the broadcast of your sessionID as this will make it even more secure. I would think that your networking hardware should be alright, but I would have personally chosen hardware made by the same manufacturer. Good luck setting it up!

You shouldn't have any problems. D-Link and Netgear are both reputable networking companies. I'm sure they'll get along fine.
