I have a wireless router so internet can go to both the computers in my house. The plug for it blew up or somthing so i got a new one. Ever since i have been using the new one the signal has ben rubbish. My internet access will go on and off, and my pc is only in the room next to the one where the router is. Does anybody know what could be causing this?

Is the new plug identical to the old one? It could be limiting power?
Also why did the last one break, it could be possible when it broke it had an effect on your router etc with a surge or something.

inteference causes bad signal - like stuff blocking or covering the antenna of either the router or the wifi cards in the other machines. Think of radio waves as being beams of light that can bounce off walls - and try position the antennas where the signals can get to and from each other.

Make sure that the plug you bought is exactly the same, ie it provides at least the same current and voltage. It could be underpowered. Also, and this is something you have probably checked yourself, make sure that the aerials for the router and teh reviecer (pci card, usb reciever) are both screwed in properly, if I use mine with it loose then I get an inconsistant signal.
