So finally Stryker releases Deadpool, who now is bald with flame shooting out of his sunken red eyes, and the ability to disappear like Wraith. And Deadpool's mouth is sewn shut, causing Wolverine to quip, "They finally shut you up." And Deadpool's trusty sword comes out of his fist ? just like Wolverine's claws. The fight moves to the top of one of the nuclear reactors, and Deadpool is shooting everything with his eye-blasts, destroying all the reactors.

oh god

the first report from someone who claims to have seen an early screening. Healing-factor-challenging spoilers are below.

Obviously, several grains of salt are indicated here. Still, the screening report does match up fairly well with the footage we've already seen

"Still, the screening report does match up fairly well with the footage we've already seen"

.... which doesn't mean a thing one way or the other. If this 'leak' is made up obviously the writer would make it match up to the trailers and the inspirational etc. to some extent.
Enough to made it credible to the credulous.

Colour me unconvinced.

I agree however the voice in the back of my head is saying this looks bad ..which is odd because it usually tells me to start fires

When I saw Watchmen there was a trailer for this and at the end of it I said "CAN I GET SUM WINE WITH ALL DAT CHEESE??". Now I think I was correct in assuming there will be wine with all that cheese.

Gosh, I sure hope this lives up to the pedigree established by the X-Men movies so far.

There is a leaked version of this going around, though it doesn't come out for a month. You can find it if you look, but let me warn you that it is VERY unfinished. Many scenes done in CGI look terrible, untextured, unfinished. The last half hour or so is especially bad. I'm told that there is about 14 minutes missing too, but I'm unsure about that.

That said, it doesn't make this a bad movie. This movie makes this a bad movie.

Summary of the movie. Kind of a play by play, to keep you from watching it.

MASSIVE ****ING AMOUNT OF SPOILERS.

In many ways it's what you'd expect out of the story.

We start with Logan and Victor. Logan's sick as a kid, and his father and Victor's father share a house, though I'm not sure why. Also inexplicably, Victor's father kills Logan's father. Logan goes into a rage, bone claws come out, and he kills Victor's father, who confesses while dying that he was Logan's father as well. Logan runs off, and is found by Victor who is all "Brother's have to stick together and look out for each other". The first several years of their lives go by in a blur. We see them together through the wars, and finally when they meet up with Stryker.

Danny Huston actually plays an excellent Stryker, considering he isn't Brian Cox. Stryker assembles this team of superheroes, with Victor, Logan, Deadpool, Wraith, and Blob. Oh, and some asian ninja guy, and some telepathic guy. Something I find interesting is that Sabretooth isn't called such in this, he's always referred to as Victor. Anyway, Wraith can teleport, Blob isn't fat, but seems to be incredibly strong. And Asian guy is the most insane shot ever.

So we break into this complex, which basically just shows each mutant taking a turn ****ing shit up, in case you didn't know what everyone did. It turns out we're there for Adamantium, which came from an asteroid. So we go off in search of that which takes us to some African mud village. When they start killing people, Logan is all "I didn't sign up for this" and takes off, pissing off his team.

Cut to 6 years later, Logan is living in the mountains in Canada with Silver Fox and working as a logger / lumberjack. She isn't known as Silver Fox, of course, and isn't seen to have any powers, but that's who it is. So shut up. Sabretooth is apparently killing the old team for seemingly no reason. We're told he killed Deadpool and then we see him kill the psychic. Which means that's it for Deadpool for this movie. What a ****ing waste of a great character. Stryker finds Logan and warns him someone is killing the team. Sabretooth ends up finding Logan's cottage and kills Silver Fox. Logan gets ripshit, fight ensues.

In order to get revenge on Victor, Logan finds Stryker, who tells him "Oh I found adamantium, let's do this cool procedure on you." So he goes for it. Silver Fox had told him this cute story / legend the night before she died that caused him to adopt the name Wolverine. After the surgery, Styker wants to wipe Logan's memory, but he hears that, gets all ****ed off, and busts out.

He stays with some nice locals until the secret agent asian guy takes them out. Insert silly fight scene involving humvees, a motorcycle, and a helicopter.

Right about here things get kind of hazy, I think I may have stroked out from just how bad this was.

Wolverine goes to find Wraith and Blob, who has gotten gigantic. He finds out that Wraith and Victor had been rounding up mutants. "The dangerous ones, to protect people". Blob says that said mutants are kept on an island that Stryker owns, Wraith didn't know, says he didn't ever want to know what happened to them. They're being experimented on. So Wraith joins Wolverine, and they hear tell of one person who escaped, by name of Remy Lebeau. ****ing awesome.

We find Gambit and while Wolverine is talking to him in a bar, Wraith is watching the backdoor. Victor shows up and they fight, which is kind of like you'd imagine Nightcrawler fighting Victor to be. Victor ends up being like "You're predictable" and punches to where Wraith is teleporting to, basically making a "heart / fist" collision.

Meanwhile Gambit throws some charged cards throwing Wolverine through the wall. Victor and Wolverine fight, but it's broken up by Gambit. Victor runs away, Gambit and Wolverine have a cool fight. It's actually really awesome, but a bit overdone. They do some cool things like Gambit uses his staff.

Gambit and Wolverine team up to go to the Island. Because, well, why not. Meanwhile Victor has captured a very young Cyclops from school. We see a cool cameo of Stryker's son, which is only relevant of you saw X2 or read the comics or anything like that. He's kept prisoner like any other mutant.

During a majority of the movie, they actually do a decent job portraying Wolverine as a character. They really show his struggle between being a beast and monster like Victor is. And you kind of feel for him, having everything he loved taken away. Whatever.

So we find out from Gambit that Victor and Styker have been working together. Lol they pulled one over on Wolverine, set his ass up completely. So Gambit drops Wolverine off and jets. Gay, I really liked him. Wolverine walks into the lab to kill Styker (who is working on Weapon XI) and low and behold Silver Fox is there. And she has the power to manipulate, and Wolverine is all "You broke my goddamn heart". We get the impression that she cares, though.

Wolverine says to her that he should have known, but that he ignored his instincts, and he's never gonna do that again. He LEAVES. Victor gets pissed at Stryker like "How can you let him go?" and Silver Fox says "Oh so you'll let my sister go now?" And Stryker says no, that he's still working on her. Silver Fox tries to manipulate Victor, and when he nearly kills her her screams bring Wolvie back in, pissed as ever. He nearly kills Victor but instead just knocks him out. We learn that Stryker has been basically trying to combine powers.

Wolvie decides to help Silver Fox save her sister, and we see in the next scene that Stryker has captured like DOZENS of mutants. At a guess I'd say Toad, Emma Frost or Storm, Quicksilver, Cyclops, and some others that I wasn't too familiar with. Silver Fox's sister has the power to get "Diamond hard" skin, which essentially makes her a glittery Colossus.

They all go to leave, and Weapon XI walks in. Wolverine sends everyone out the back way. Silver Fox won't go because she loves Logan, and subsequently takes a bullet in the stomach. Cyclops leads them all out of a series of tunnels because someone is speaking to him psychically.

While this is going on we find that Weapon XI is, in fact, Deadpool. But instead of being the Deadpool we know and love, he's been ****ed with. His eyelids were removed, mouth is sewn shut, and yes, swords come out of his goddamn hands. And he's completely controlled by Styker.

A fight ensues, and as it goes on we find more and more what Styker was doing with power combination. Deadpool has: Regeneration, Sword hands, an Adamantium skeleton, Cyclops's laser eyes, and Wraith's teleportation. After a bit of fighting he nearly kills Wolverine, but is ambushed by Victor, who says, and I quote "I'm the only one that's allowed to kill you". Wolverine and Sabretooth fight for several minutes, and Wolverine eventually kills Deadpool by decapitation.

He says to Sabretooth that "This doesn't change anything between us. It's over" And Sabre says it'll never be over, they're brothers, and brothers look out for each other. The escaping mutants exit the tunnel, where they run into Professor X, who is not paralysed, but is still as bald and Patrick Stewart as ever. Stryker has a gun with Adamatium Bullets that he intends to incapacitate Wolverine with, since it won't kill him. "His brain will heal, his memories won't though".

Wolverine runs into Gambit again, who he tells to stop them (I think meaning Stryker) from escaping. Wolverine then finds Silver Fox, who is dying. They confess love, and he starts to carry her away. Stryker shoots Wolverine many times in the head. He then moves to shoot Silver Fox, who does her manipulation thing to him, but instead of having him kill himself "because we'd be no batter than you" she just has him "walk until his feet bleed, and then walk some more".

Wolverine gets up and Gambit's come back. Wolverine has NO IDEA who Gambit or Silver Fox is, which is pretty ****ing stupid. Apparently SHOOTING THE ADAMANTIUM SKULL WITH MORE ADAMANTIUM CAUSES BRAIN DAMAGE. Gambit's like "We've gotta go" since the place is falling apart, and Wolverine says he'll find his own way.

Overall the movie had some decent themes, and didn't do a terrible job with all the characters. That said it focused a whole lot on action scenes that just weren't all that good, and didn't nearly explore characters as much as it could have. It's basically what we've come to expect from Marvel.

Deadpool survived decapitation in the comics by having his head surgically reattached.

Doesn't stop them butchering the same stories. Look at Spiderman 3. Look at X-Men 3. Look at Ghost Rider.

I'm not really sure what I'm arguing here. I agree this film will be absolutely crap.

I get angry just thinking about Spiderman 3.

So, is it worse than X-Men 3?(which was actually watchable)

I didn't see X3 because I heard it was so terrible.

I think my brother remarked that this was better, but he was busy rofling at the awful CGI, so it may have just been comedic value.

Yeah think?

it hasn't been the comics since X-men 1...

That wasn't the comics either. All the Marvel films are in an entirely different continuity, what's your problem?

You misunderstood the context of my text.

I meant it wasn't even the x-men even with part 1.

Unfortunately Stern's OP description is completely true. I was at Walmart, saw some of the new Wolverine kid's toys... and well, Deadpool fit the description perfectly...

Yeah, Sterns description is correct.

Except, small detail, it's not flame coming out of Deadpool's eyes, it's the Cyclops eye-laser thing.

Why does Wolverine look like a woman in his own toy box

As opposed to someone else's toy box?
