won't work

Every time I try to play a HL2 mod, it just launches regular HL2, nothing changed to it. Does anyone know a way I can fix this?

Yeah, it loads up HL2's main menu and nothing has changed to it.

Is it different when you start a game? Does impulse 101 give more weapons or anything like that?

When you paste the Smod folder into your 'SourceMods' folder, when you restart Steam it should show Smod in your 'My Games' list.

Are you clicking Half-life 2? Or are you actually clicking the Smod name in your 'My Games' list?

I have a land of the dead:road to fiddlers green game for my PC.I downloaded a Dawn of the dead MOD and it comes up for the first loading screen but goes to the same main menu.Plus it Doesn't happen when you play every level but still does not work .

Smod is showing under 'My Games' list, but when I click on it and starts, its just hl2's main menu. Nothing is changed to it.

Weird, after a reinstall of Source SDK, a message popped up when I started it saying I need to switch and applanch number in smod gameinfo.txt from 220 to 215. I did that, and set the applanch for smod to 215 in the launch options, and it worked. I had to manually put in the maps and scenes though.
