These badboys are ridiculously powerful... the sub is 120W alone, the whole 2.1 system clocks in at 200Ws :D

It's a 2.1 system simply because I use headphones for gaming, and this is just for music pretty much :)

My friends in the flat upstairs feel the floor in their corridor when I crank up the volume and hte bass :E

Nice.
I have Logitech Z5500s. 505 watts total. I believe it's 60 watts a speaker and 300 for the sub, though I could be wrong (it might be 70 watts per speaker)

Anyway, good speakers rock.

My dad once bought 5 boomboxes (those long speakers) each being 200W and we watched a movie with it. Then we got a complaint from the police that our music was too loud. They even thought we were having a party, rofl

CB, what are they called?

I have my custom 5.1, and it's way ****ing bigtime doubleduperly better than yours, I'm sure.

Wait, let me get a photo...

EDIT: here you go

I built that subwoofer... and I'm gonna build another one.

I'm getting a new monitor in 2 weeks btw, so don't even bother complaining about it.

A high amount of watts is pointless if its in a bedroom.

Still awesome though. It goes as loud as I want. But indeed, high ammounts of watts is pretty useless in general. A 200watt system only goes 3dB louder than a 100watt system (given that the speakers are exactly the same in every other way). I amplify my subwoofer with 80watts, the amplifier does peak at 80 watts often, but it doesn't have any noticible distortion or limits.

i have 2 12" bases in my speakers but still... its only 2x80 watt.

measuring watt is useless. Different amps use watt differently. My NAD is very power hungry but still just rated at 2 x 80. If this would be a Panasonic/Sony/crap it would be something like 8000 watt in their way of thinking.

I want a pair..... soooo badly...

But yah, pumping 250watts through a tweeter is a wee bit of overkill, if not completely useless. It does get more reliable though, which is a good thing.

The PMC BB5 XBD-A that I posted above has 4200W :|

EDIT: Btw CB, you still haven't said what the name is of your speakersystem..

Yeah those are them :)

Best that I can afford - being a student and all, and spending my money on important things like booze and clothes :D

I was gonna buy the Creative Gigaworks S750 (1x 210W, 7x 70W), but I'm quite happy with my current setup. My current custom setup (see above) does games and music quite nicely. My dad has the Megaworks 5.1 and I tested it alot and concluded that it sucks for music. I guess that's the case with this thing too, so I think I'm not gonna buy it at all.
