Wood Physical Breakage

Okay well in Hl2 wood was supposed to break semi realistically. The place you shoot it would cause a breaking point along the board. Well I dont have this in my version of hl2. As far as I know it was in the stolen beta. It might even be that its not there becuase of my computer. This is not a thread about how I am complaning. I just want to know if it really was taken out or its just me.

(If you dont know what I am talking about refer to the 2003 e3 vid of hl2 demonstration)

It's not YOUR copy of hl2 ... It's not YOUR computer ... It's the game ... One breaking point per piece of wood ...
 
Mines breaks fine. Keep in mind that only certain pieces of wood will break like how your thinking, some such as doors and walls will only have decals and not break. But planks and boxes should break nicely.

Well obviously it has to do with something of mine. Other wise it would break like it should and not just shatter as it did in hl1.

Forgot to mention that wood debris vanish when hit with a crowbar.

For instance lets take a the same piece of wood used in the e3 2003 demo. Those types are laying all over hl2. Now When I shoot at it, decals show up and then it shatters, even tho its the same as in the demonstration a year ago.
 
The E3 movie was just for show. Everybody's wood breaks apart like yours.
 
What, now the wood doesn't break they way you want it to?!

FFS, you people know this is a GAME, right? Not real life? Who gives a FS if the wood spliters or breaks at one particular point?!
