Woohoo, my birthplace is officially the worst place to live in the UK

Wolverhampton - 3/5 (average rating)

It's not a bad city itself, it's just the people suck. The entire city is surrounded by bad, run down areas where gangs are frequent every other 5 minutes. I really do feel sorry for the people that do live so close. I live about 7 miles away and I'm in a nice village (save for the shops in the middle) but ye gods is Wolverhampton full of scum.

Pssh, I would love to see my hometown over here in the states. See how it fairs. I'd guess 1/5.

Now that I live in Oxford, I'd give Brighton a 5/5 because I miss it so. I have lived in shitholes (eg Ayreshire) but Brighton isn't one of them.

Quick guide: Brighton and Hove has a population of 255,000 and an eccentric bohemian culture that combines traditional regency architecture with a lively seafront and modern creative industries. At a count in 2000, one in five of all businesses were deemed to be ‘creative’ and included fashion designers, film makers, computer software producers and record labels. The average cost of property in the area has increased by 14.4% over the last year, hitting nearly £265,000.

Although the GCSE pass rate is slightly below the national standard, 38% of all eligible residents have higher education qualifications of NVQ 4 or higher – a figure 10% higher than the British benchmark. Brighton has a lively nightlife and the famous 17th Century Lanes provide both quaint shopping and leisurely exercise in equal measure.
On another note, I can't believe Chichester's doing better than Brighton and Hove. Ridiculous!

My town is not on their :( So I went for the next nearest one. Weymouth, 5/5.

Quick guide: At 16 square miles, Weymouth and Portland is the smallest borough in Devon and includes the resort of Weymouth, the Isle of Portland, and the outlying villages of Preston, Melcombe Regis, Upwey, Broadwey, Fortuneswell and Easton.

Yeah, except its not in Devon. Its in Dorset. What retard wrote this article?

I try to avoid going into Wolvo as much as possible for these very reasons.

Bridgnorth
Average rating:
(5 / 5)
Quick guide: Known for its small market towns, villages and rural countryside, the borough of Bridgnorth has a relatively small population of 52,200. The River Severn splits the main town picturesquely into High Town and Low Town, named on account of the noticeable difference in height. The standard house price in the area is £227,262, a figure that has risen by 2.1% over the last year. Unemployment in the borough is low at 3% and residents earn an average of £461 a week.

There is a sharp differential in the average pay of those working in Bridgnorth itself (some £124 a week less), suggesting that people are commuting to nearby Wolverhampton and Telford. Bridgnorth has proudly won 5 consecutive gold medals in the Britain in Bloom competition and a silver award in the European floral competition

I'm 8 miles away from this place and I can tell you none of this shit it true.

Obviously the survey is a load of shit becaused A. people will big up where they live an B. different things make a place for different people, so some will rank Shitholeshire, Scotland the best place in the world because it's quite and boring, whereas others will vote 5 for the Gorbals because it's got 'an active nightlife'.

Although I hear the Gorbals are being regentrified these days.

4/5 :O

Quick guide: East Lothian, tucked into a cove on the East coast of Scotland, is birthplace of Alexander, King of Scots and site of Aberlady Bay, littered with wrecked submarines and other military hardware used for target practice during WWII.The Forth is home to a beautiful nature reserve, which is well worth a visit on a sunny afternoon or even for a brisk autumnal stroll. Crime rates in East Lothian are well below Scotland?s national average, while house prices are consistently above the level of the Scottish average. After a big rise of 14.6% over the previous 12 months, the growth looks set to continue with prices up 5.6% last quarter.

I'm surprised to be honest.

Manchester = 3/5, 17th worst place to live \o/

Quick guide: Once at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution and also the cotton industry, Manchester was the winner in the recent race for Britain’s first super casino site (though that decision is now in doubt).

Cotswolds - 5/5 - http://www.channel4bestandworst.com/borough.php?id=27

Pretty generous, considering it's mainly inhabited by inbreds and farmers.

Bristol scored a 4/5 which seems reasonable enough, yet I've only been here 3 weeks so I can't come to any major conclusions as of yet. The night life is pretty awesome though!

Bromley - 5/5

A 3 or 4 would probably be more fitting. It's just alright.
