Work, cursed printer!

My cursed HP PSC 1610 all-in-one printer has stopped working. Well, not really, but it refuses to believe the cartridge it has been using for the past 3 months is the same cartridge, and refuses to recognize it, claiming it's not for use in the printer. Gah! I know it works in the printer, because I've used it multiple times, and I've managed to force it to print while not recognizing the cartriage. Does anybody know of a way to force the colour printer to print despite it not recognizing the cartridge?

find out how to reset the printer; may be simple as unplugging for 20 seconds.
I think I have the same one, it mightve did this before but im unsure i always leave it turned off.
