...is an expansive team-based tactical combat mod - wait, hear me out - set in an alternative Year 2000 where the Soviet Union never collapsed, the Wall never fell and Saddam occupied Kuwait in the 90s with the help of his Soviet allies. This media shows off several of the newer maps, the modeller's face on a soldier and panoramic views of the game's landscapes. [br]

Also, Munro: don't delete this. It may be more than 24 hours out of date but nobody else put it here, and what do you want me to do? Not bother?

You mean... It isn't... a... WW2 game?

I... I am speachless. Truly.

might have been cooler to say the curtain never fell, rather than the wall

this one has been around longer than practically any other realism themed mod on HL2... They just tend to wait a long time before releaseing anything

the team is the ex-fa team from the newer versions

Ok so you want to make a realistic game, but all the other games out there pretty much cover the lot i.e. Fatigue, accuracy when crouched.
So what to do?
Well you do a war game where you can eat, poo and do a little pipi.
I can hardly believe it myself.

-Relief: Upon successfully eating a meal, players must relieve themselves. Olah has programmed a new "Player Relief" VGUI that opens when it is time for a bathroom break.
-Urinating: Selecting "#1" on the VGUI will open up a new minigame where the player must jiggle the mouse up and down to simulate lowering a zipper. There's a random chance that the zipper may be folded up and stuck under the flap of cloth at the top of the fly.
-Defecating: Selecting "#2" on the VGUI will cause the player to drop his drawers. A random timer chooses the length it takes to defecate; the current values we're working with are anywhere from 30 seconds to 20 minutes.

20 minutes??? so you will see players on the battlefield shitting for up to 20 minutes ?? Keep in mind that people start crying when they have to wait 5 minutes in CS to respawn. Can you imagine getting rushed while you are trying desperately to unzip your fly after you see your team-mate getting shot in the head while he is taking a sh*t???

I had to read it twice as I really believed it was a joke.
I am sorry but I find the idea of solo rushing because my team-mates are taking a crap very unpleasant.

I mean don't get me wrong the guys go very far, they even mention controlling your own lactic acid levels in order to avoid cramps.
To me that sounds more like a "sim soldier".

Then again I m moaning about it, but now I cannot wait to try it out and see what it feels like to wipe my butt with a rusty bayonet

Cmon i dont belive u fell for that. Check the date for that news.

Intresting concept. I hear so much about mods in progress but after first media release nothing more?

gotta love the facegen heads

Yeah, those are totally Facegen heads! The generic ears give it away.

I had that done a couple of years ago. It turned out ok, although I had to edit the skin texture to make it look more realistic. See my "digital" and "modeling" section at www.theboxthebox.com if you want to see examples.

I figured it would suck until I saw A-10s.

I love A-10s. I'll download this.

Sounds like OFP on an engine that doesn't support large environments as well.

But in all reality I hope they pull it off :)

I really like your "follow freeman" design.

Thanks!

It's the post popular shirt that I sell. I also use it for my DM spray!

they did some of that scale stuff...

what they really need to do is be REALLY agressive with player LOD's

one thing people should note too is that this is one of the rare teams that have managed to complete and release mods before....
