We all knew that HL2 for the Xbox would'nt do too hot at all because it was a pc game port and Halo 2 was coming out at that time. But now Valve is putting HL2, Ep1&2, plus TF2 on the Xbox 360. I think at that time Valve didn't want to pursue the console market because it was too hard to code and they had already started the project and needed to get some revenue back. But I think in the end Valve saw $$$ and started to develop for the Xbox360 and PS3. Even though Valve said it was the worst sales they had, I think the Dreamcast HL was worse. Or could it be HL for the Playstation 2? What do you think is the worst product sale figures from Valve? *Btw the other option is for expansion packs put out by 3rd party companies.

Well the 360 wouldn't be that hard to transfer over because you are still using DirectX and you could put everything onto one core of the processor if you so chose to thus making it just as easy to code for if not easier(because your only working with one set of hardware) than the Pc.

The PS3 however suprised me although you could look into putting it all onto its main processor and the graphic card although you would have to rewrite Source's renderer in Open GL.

I think now that Valve has a distributor\publisher(in all the technical mumbo jumbo) like EA and may be able to get some good Advertising(Commericals, Demos at places like Wal-Mart) they should be able to do much better.

Also you could probably look up the sale figures.

I would have to say HL for Dreamcast. Probably because it never came out.

Dreamcast :| Only like 14 consoles were sold.

The Dreamcast was a great machine and the last console I bought. When it died console gaming died. :p

Half Life 2 on X box isnt that bad, it pwns halo to me btw

I thought HL on Dreamcast was never released :\

It wasn't. The dreamcast version was cancelled. The extra chapters that were already developed were released as a PC standalone game (together with the High Definition pack): Blueshift.

A friend of mine has a Dreamcast...he bought it for like 10 euros and it was originally found from a dumpster by some 3rd party I don't personally know.

the 360 is easy to program for apparently. im sure i read the iD software use 360's as a development tool when theyre creating stuff for PC.

dreamcast was ace, shame it lacked support. i recently got mine out and played through shenmue 1 and 2... which reminds me, apparently shenmue 3 is near enough done and is waiting to be put together properly for next gen consoles, sega are seeing who gives them the best deal (MS or sony) my money would be in 360 if either one gets it

Halo 2 was already out before they even got Half-Life 2 on X-Box.
The only reason it didn't sell well on XB was because they brought it out near the death of XB. And what other consoles have taught us, bringing a good game out on a console when it's close to dying is never a good idea.

True, True. Very smart.
