would anyone play a siege mod?

Basically a replica of the old Hexen2 mod called 'seige'.

CTF/HTF TFC style gameplay in a medieval/fantasy setting with level gained skills, nice looking spells.

I loved that mod, still do, its tactical but still action based.

Im very tempted to dump my current mod project to do this but i first wanted to know the opinion of others.

my other concern is, i was REALLY looking forward to putting vehicles in a mod, my only option in a medieval/fantasy mod would be horses and perhaps flying carpets.

thoughts? ideas? comments? flames?

Hey, even though I have never played that MOD, the premise sounds really cool! Sadly, I can't help you , because I don't know how to model/map/whatever (well, at least not yet )

Anyways, what MOD are you currently working on? if it's a mod that has already been done (cts vs terrorists, add weapons, unorignal idea etc.) then you should go with this.. More people will play a fresh idea like this (especially with RPG elements, fantasy themed, aka: stuff we haven't seen before in HL ) than a variation on the CS styled gameplay....

The previous mod was a humans vs robots type game which i chose to do because it would be easier. It hasnt been done before but i think it would lack gameplay.

So, i've decided i will be making the Siege mod, all the previoius members of the old mod are agreed that Siege would be more enjoyable, sure, we've wasted a lot of work, but better to change now than later.

It sounds nice, except I dont really get how realism can be a key part and still heavily rely on fantasy?
Scrap realism. Its funnier for everyone.

It was ported to the Heretic 2 engine also which was a bit better, but still rather old

i have never pld Hexen but i might just go and see what its like give me something 2 do while i wait for hl2 =)

Heretic 2 was better, dont bother playing the siege mod though unless you have someone to play with, it wont let you out of the start safe area until both teams have players.
