Would they work in DM?, or arent the models choppable?

/me imagines throwing sawblades around a small packed room :O :E

I think sawblades only cut zombies in half as Valve added specific model animations for them to do that. I doubt our player models have the same animation added, but it would be great if they do.

I was messing around with the model viewer earlier, and I didn't see anything like that. Odds are the models aren't destructable like that.

* shrugs *

Maybe someone could make the models fairly easily. I mean, the inside of a zombie and the inside of a person aren't too different, so maybe someone could split the soldier and civilian models in two and just paste in the zombie guts.

Try spawning a few sawblades and some combines (if its possible) and see if you can cut them in two. :)

Tisnt, Go to model viewer, they have zombie models, torso and leg models for zombies, and zombies only :( Would be kickass though.

That'd be nice... but also annoying as hell.

Sort of like getting brained with a sink.

the models could easily be made to be cut in half, and we dont even need that really, just throw a sawblade at someone and it kills them.

now im sure valve would be smart enough to make a DM level based in Ravenholm though ;)
traps, paintcans, and sawblades galore :thumbs:

it doesn't cut other players in half, I tested it

Sawblades would be too powerful anyway. As it is right now, objects tend to turn end-over-end while in the air, which can result in less damage impacts or missing the enemy entirely. Sawblades, if they acted like the singleplayer (as they should) fly in a dead straight line very quickly - it'd be a garunteed instant kill, if you aimed correctly. Too overpowered.

Maybe there should be only one or two in the map, that way there wouldnt be a sawblade spam-a-thon.

^yea, they have those rare hard to find hard to get weapons... they could do the same with objects! :thumbs:
