I didn't care much for the special editions of Star Wars, so no.

Hopefully it will be in the collectors edition, so I would be paying for it in a way

That's a tough one. A lot would really depend on whether they change the game around a bit to take advantage of the physics, or leave it the same. If it doesn't change, there really wouldn't be a whole lot of need for it.

Already bought the original many, many times over the years. I am NOT shelling out cash for it again.

I would pay, only if they revamped the graphics on it and made sure it is 64 bit compatible. If I want to play Half-Life 10 years from now, I don't want to worry about finding an old computer (like I have to do to play Mechwarrior 2).

It won't need to be 64bit compatable to play in 10 years as long as we still use x86 processors.

I wouldn't.. unless it's revamped in a similar fashion as CS:S is

I just dont have the money is all. If it is reworked very well, it might turn to a maybe, but I doubt I would pay 20 for it.

Ooops, I meant switching windows kernels on us (from DOS/95 to Windows XP/NT).

Yes, especially since I never got all that far in it... :O

Why pay when you could download it... dont need the multiplayer component... we got DoD, CS and TFC for that. :)

Same here, but I'm betting (hoping) it'll be revamped as such.
There's also the issue of price. If it's hella cheap, I see no reason why not.

wrong thread!

HALF-LIFE 2 woyldve been soo much better if it was released in july!!!!!!!!I mean thikn about it, everyone will be off school so everyone will get to enjoy playing it more often!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WOULD ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh well i guess thats too bad.. lets just hope that it'll come in august!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: OOPS WRONG THREAD SRY!

I wouldn't pay for it, because I've already got HL1 and if I'm looking for a HL Source game I'll just play HL2.

I would... I'm a big enough fan of the original game (as in HUGE fan) that I'd pay for it just to have the original game with ragdoll physics. I'm hoping they'll revamp some of the content though, like replace at least some models and textures with higher quality ones. I buy VERY few games, so I can certainly afford to spend that kind of money on it. The only game I've bought in the last year or so has been UT2K4, and that's only because I'm on a mod team.

And if you guys were wondering, Rick (or maybe doug... or somebody) already said in the info thread or maybe an interview that they're not going to re-map the graphics/levels in HL:Source because it would be like making Half-life 3. It will just get the benefits of source, IE. Great shadows, Lighting, physics/ragdolls. From the leak of the port I hear there isn't much new other than something I won't say, which isn't all that great.

I don't understand what's the difference between a source and a game. What is this new cs with new graphics all about this is a source not a game?

'Source' is what the Half-Life 2 game engine has been named... so CS: Source is obviously... CS... on Half-Life 2's engine! That means better graphics, physics, all that good stuff. :)

ohhhh ok so it is cs. will they make a cs2?
Yep, they will... but, unlike CS: Source (which is pretty much the same old thing), it should be significantly different than the orignal.

So this cs source has all the same levels right? Did they make any new ones?

Prolly just re-makes of what we already have, but who knows...

Yes, if the graphics were on par with HL2. If its just a direct port and some added physics, then no.

I don't think that I'd pay for it..

well i am purchasing the Collectors Edition.. so hopefully the Source conversions are included.. but in the event that they aren't.. i don't see myself purchasing all of the Source conversions...maybe just CS:S and perhaps OP4:S if its available.

I would pay for it.

But I would kill for Opposing Force to be re-done :D

I wouldn't pay for this...
Come on guys, it's the same lady in a different dress. Do you like buying different versions of Microsoft Windows, even if you know the only difference between them is graphical design and "stability" (not including Windows XP, must I say)?

It's the same here.
We all put our share to buy Half Life in the past.
If they decided to give us a present - fine with me.
If they want to charge money for it - I will not buy it.

No I wouldn't pay for it, because I don't want to go through HL1 on source, I'd much rather play HL2.

I thought cs:s was free when you'll purchase HL2.. well I guess they changed it...

:dozey: No, it should be free, on certain conditions though... if you own Half Life 2, and it is detected on Steam you have the choice to receive HL 1 via Steam. That is how I see it.

No I wouldn't.

why? cause I played the game 6th times. If the Collector Edition included HL:S then that would be cool.
