Blizzard has launched an incentive to get even more subs. The new recruit-a-friend program has some perks for players that are "linked" by an invitation:
The invited friend doesn't even have to be a paying sub for these benefits to work. Someone from another forum tested it out by creating a trial account. He put the new lvl 1 on follow on a lvl 8 from his veteran account and started questing. He got more XP from grinding and quests (that weren't shared btw) gave triple XP. In theory your trial zombie would level up along with you, altho at a slower rate, until either it reached level cap for the trial or when the 10 days have ended. Since it can give free levels to the veteran you should be able to reach lvl 30, 35 within 3 or 4 evenings playing when you both start at level 1.
Weird scheme. It just doesn't feel right.
What in-game benefits do we get while the accounts we play are linked?
1. Characters on both accounts can summon each other once per hour.
2. While adventuring with your linked friend/family member, you will each gain triple experience.
3. For every two levels the new player earns, the new player can grant one free level-up to a lower-level character played by the veteran player.
