Okay, so here's a thread for thos of us eagerly awaiting our WoW fix...

Can someone inform me what language all the stuff will be in, and whether we'll be playing with other English speakers? I don't really want to spend time translating loads of stuff to quest with random people from France :-/

Also, anyone interested in maybe meeting up when the game goes live?

I know I am :>

The servers are localised or something, so, if you had an english version of WoW and went on a french based server, everything sent from the server will be translated into english automatically. But who wants to play with the french? :P

I'll meet up with some people when i get it (its on pre-order - so should get it day 1, so gameplay say), I'll be a paladin though, so either a dwarf (my choice) or a human if someone wants to play with me and can't go dwarfen. I've played a human paladin about 4 times now and i know all the quests so its a bit boring at first, thats why i'd rather be a dwarf when i get retail.

From what I read in the European beta boards, anything is possible; you can buy a copy from your local gamestore in England, install the game in french and play on the english server.

the version you buy in england will be in english. all european servers are based in paris (i think), as well as all the GMs. there are english speaking GMs, as well as french and german.

i think the plan is to provide language specific servers. ie. english only server, french speaking only server, german speaking only server etc.

final beta should start either on friday or early next week! :D i'm hoping to be a dwarf warrior or a gnome mage. as for which server, i'm not sure, we'll have to see which ones they're offering, but i'm hoping for a pvp server but if it turns out a bit shitty i might have to move over to an RP server :/

oh well, roll on next week! *glares at gameplay*

Will there be first come first served places on the beta?

i think final beta is only available to those who preordered. when you preorder, you get a 'pre-order kit' which is a soundtrack cd and a beta key. you then have to download the client yourself (2gb) and then you can play once they say so.

GAME are all out of beta keys: http://shop.game.net/ViewProduct.aspx?cat=10332&mid=270980

not sure about gameplay though, you can try emailing them to ask and you might get the key by the time it starts.
