Godlike.

If that makes money I'm changing jobs

It has a minimum of two sales since you cant rate things unless you bought it.

Also, I sold this thing a couple times on turbosquid for 10 bucks before. Its become an inside joke between me and my co-workers.

What do you need for selling stuff in turbo?

paypal I take it?

I dont think so. Its been awhile since I actually used it, but turbosquid handles the actual transactions itself, and then you can just withdraw the money to your bank account I think.

so many naked women for sale! someone call the cops!

Wow, this really freaking me out. I was just browsing turbosquid and then I come over here to find this thread?!

I have also considered making a turbosquid account and selling my shit there. However from what I've read it's kind of a hassle if your not from the US of A. Correct me if I'm wrong Krynn but don't you need to fill out papework and physically mail it to them in order to activate your "salesman" acount?

I didn't have to, but im from the US so i dont know if it would be different for you.

How do I sell stuff on turbosquid?

Make an account, upload stuff, set info and prices, profit.

omg I want to get back into modeling again. I'm gunna make some cool LEGO shit

So you don't have to like... pay a small fee to be able to sell?

Turbosquid takes a cut. The size of it depends on how good of a member you are. If you're a long term member with lots of sales, they take a smaller percentage, if you're new, I think they take like 50%.

Probably is...

Thing is I'm working on setting up my own little commercial site, and I was browsing turbosquid to get an idea on how much I should charge for my stuff. My conclusion? The prices on turbosquid are totally random, going from a decent price to quality ratio, to the examples in this thread...

Newpaper ads, tv ads flash games and etc, others are for personal use for projects

So once you buy them do you have the complete freedom to use them in any way you like?

Depends on the item, under $100 its free reign deal, over, you have to pay a small fee if its continually used in in a commercial fashion, so I'm lead to believe, not quite sure.

Nah, I think you set the pricing scheme for things. Generally speaking its a one time payment, but you can set up like royalties and such I believe.

Yeah, its weird. But if turbosquid finds that your prices are too low for how much they are selling, they actually automatically increase the prices. Its weird. But im not so sure how your plan will work. You wont get nearly the amount of exposure, and there will still be costs with the merchant services and etc.

If you have something for professionals, you can charge ****loads. Business - Medical, Film, TV - Big budget.

If you have something for modders, you can't charge much. Because they don't get paid for their work.

hotnumbers continues to reinforce my impression that he's a forum bot.

3d model sites are literally a dime a dozen. To be honest i really doubt the market is thriving with activity, There are big players like turbosquid and a whole host of smaller 3d model sites which offer models for free and for commercial use. So you really have to ask yourself , what are you going to bring to the table ?.

Today I've found a site that's more friendly to foreign artists, and signed up there. Also they actually check the stuff you upload, so you wont find nonsense like the examples posted here.

However I still plan to have my own commercial site at the same time. My philosophy with this whole deal is that even if I get only say $20-$30 per month it still is money I didn't have to work for.

You better check the terms of that site you just joined then, because with turbosquid, you're not allowed to sell your work elsewhere if you're selling them on their site too.
