Whenever I try and "Launch" Half-life 2, a big happy error pops up saying there's a missing Launcher DLL and "The specified procedure could not be found."

Is there something other than deleting my entire Half-life 2 folder to fix this crap? Because I'm sick to my stomach with re-installing this god damn thing.

A screenshot for the literarly challenged:

New monitor ---> AUD$500+
New graphic card ---> AUD$600+
New spanking Half-Life 2 Collectors Edition with XL size HL2 T-Shirt made in Honduras ---> AUD$120+

The joy of 1 hour+ decrypting validation prepearing process, restarting the comp after each crash, trying work arounds to solve problems, laggy stutters memory error (whatever you call it) and fck up numerous patches within 2 weeks (was it less or more), which pretty much sum up an unfinished game rushed out for X-Mas ... ---> FREAKING PRICELESSLY FRUSTATING.

Sorry, i dunno solution to your problem. Yeah, probly some dll could be corrupted.

try going into add\remove programs and repair the installation

I haven't touched this game in three weeks due to the Memory Read Error. I go back to it today, and now I'm getting this error now! What the flying ****?!

Launch it from within steam and not from the folder.

Or just delete the HL2 folder but leave the GCF's
