I was just screwing around with the settings in Counter-Strike: Source, and low-and-behold I came across a very good setting selection; at least for me. I get an average of 39.95FPS in the stress test with the following settings:

Model Detail: High
Texture Detail: High
AA: None
AF: None
Water: Reflect All
Shader: Low
Shadow Detail: High
Vertical Sync: Off
Resolution: 1024x768

All this with the following system:

Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz
512MB
GeForce FX 5200 128MB

I was quite amazed myself. This proves the flexibility of the Source engine, and lord does it feel good. Yes, I know, not the best in the world, but for you people who think you can't run Half-Life 2, rethink it.

I run with the exact same settings but in 800*600 and I get 57FPS in the Stress Test with those settings.

My Specs are:

P4 2.4GHz
ATI Radeon 9200 SE 64MB!!!
768MB RAMBUS 800MHz RAM

Never EVER thought I'd be able to run Source with that high FPS with an oldass 64MB card.

Actually some settings are automatically switched off if you have a DX8 or below card so that you can get a playable FPS.

I get around ~60ish with same settings except AF = 4x with a 1.8ghz + 9800pro. And 1 gig of rdram crap :)
