I just installed halo and started on singleplayer and the graphics SUCK. In general they are supposed to be good, but for some reason on my pc it looks like its at the lowest possible setting. In video settings theres nothing to change to increase/decrease graphics. I have a 9800pro, 1024ddr, and an Athlon XP 2800+. So this is a game issue not a system issue. Is there a patch i need?

Same here..... 2,6 ghz intel.. 512 mb and ati 9800 pro

Crappy gfx, low framerate

my fps is fine its just that the graphics are worse than hl1 graphics. There arnt even faces, its just a blur. Same with every object. Something is fuxed!!

Screenshots! We cant compare "it looks like its at the lowest possible setting" with anything.

That's my normal gaming settings.
800x600.
All settings high/on.
0xAA/16xAF.

And compare this:

What is closest to what you see? It is true that yes, in some parts of the game the graphics do suck, some low quality textures are used (but hey, its only one cd :)). Overall its one of the best looking games there is.

no dude, you dont understand. There is somethign totally wrong. Give me a place to host screenshots and ill show you.

And tell me how to take screenshots too, cause its not listed in controls.

Make sure in your video card settings your quality is set to highest quality under the d3d tab.

Dude download Direct X 9.0b.
All latest drivers.
And the patch.
Then you should be running full detail 1152x864(which I am doing with a GeForce 4 Ti 4200)

Where to get the patch? :x im lazy

You probably didn't even bother to read the readme did you? If you did you would have noticed that readme says that the 90800 pro has issues with the textures inder any settings unless you have the mipmap detail turned up to high.

Here is a direct quote from the Halo PC readme file.

"F. 3D Card Issues

Halo only supports DirectX 9.0b-compliant video cards. It is good practice to always install the latest certified drivers for all of your hardware.

For assistance with top video issues, visit http://support.microsoft.com/?pr=gmsvideo.

ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128: You may experience inconsistent graphic performance with textures if you set the Mipmap Detail Level in the ATI Direct3D Control Panel to any setting except High Quality.

NVIDIA Video Cards and FSAA Modes: You may experience difficulties running Halo using NVIDIA video cards in any of the FSAA modes. If you are having a problem, you should disable the FSAA mode for the NVIDIA video card.

Via Motherboard Chipsets: If you have a Via brand motherboard, you may need to update to the latest “4-in-1” motherboard chipset drivers to avoid crashes.
"

hope that this helps
