WTF!! Pixelated Reflections!

Whenever I play the new maps in HL2: DM, I get pixelated reflections on the different materials. Its really ****ing annoying. It seems like only the new levels are like this. Is something corrupted? Here's some pics to show you what im talking about.

WTF is going on here?!?! Anyone ever seen this problem before?

I have an ATi X800 XT PE if that means anything. Again, the newer levels are the only ones that do this. dm_overwatch and dm_lockdown look fine.
 
i have the exact same thing , only on new maps, especially dm_runoff, thats the one that's relaly got pixelated stuff... and its especially on that material too .... i have an x700 Pro .... i dont have a pic that shows that exact problem , though ur not the only one.
 
same problem 6800ultra, hate it.. I think it fixed it when I put on vertical sync.. but I havent tested it yet
 
hmmm... ill have to try vertical syn, right now its on anisotropic x16 . What about you satch919 ? Is trilinear nicer esthetic wise than max anisotropic?

I have anisotropic on x8 right now. I haven't messed with the triliner options though. I'll try some stuff.
 
Maybe they made them low precision because of performance issues.

I wasn't having performance issues. If that were the case, they would have done that on overwatch and lockdown. Both of those maps don't have this problem.
 
yeah i know what you mean , this sucks cause u god nice scenery and all and all of a sudden u see a f'd up metal panel spazing with pixels... i agree that on locldown and overwatch i havent had ANY problems. Only on this new map, though im not sure about any other, cause i aint a fan of HL2DM anymore, so i couldnt tell you much more about other maps.

Trilinear- esthetic wise didnt see much of a difference...

I posted over at the Steam forums as well. It seems like this is a well known problem. Im glad to hear that im not alone.

Everything thats been suggested so far hasn't worked. I guess we're going to have to wait for Valve to patch this one up. :|
 
Its not a problem. Valve most likely did that as "optimization" to reduce lag to dm_runoff. I mean come on, its only on this map guys, common sense.
 
No, I think it's more likely that Valve screwed up dm_runoff and hasn't got around to fix it yet. The whole map just seems like a rush job, what with that entire area of the map that was blocked off but they didn't even bother to remove it from the map (or the useless area with the car behind Combine spawn)
 
That might be the case diluted, but I don't see this as a big eyesore, it being deathmatch and all, I don't see how you can stare at the reflections all that much.

Isnt this just a case of I wish it was better..? thats how its supposed to be surely
