so what the F is that humming noise i'm hearing in my living room? there's nothing on in there but i'm hearing it through my wall... anything lovely and odd like this happen to anyone?

Oh man.. I dunno if I've said this here or not... but my friend's TV picks up the radio when it's off. We were just chillin for a while in his room...and there was a short silence. My friend hears it, "Who's got their radio on?" We realized it's not a radio..but it comes from inside the TV...not even the speaker.. it's so weird.

A TV Turned off picking up radio and playing it softly...that's messed up if you ask me...

EDIT: Another one of my friend's stereo changing volume by itself is pretty creepy. He's got one of those volume knobs that move when you change it through the remote. We just chill in his room sometimes...and we'll be talking or whatever...and then we realize...the music has stopped. He turns up the volume again with his remote (It was on his night-stand..so we weren't sitting on it or anything). A while later...we realize that the music is low again...he goes to get his remote. I'm looking at his stereo and the dial starts turning back up by itself. It keeps going and going 'till it's full blast. I ran over to it and turned it back down...

The weird thing is...it rarely ever happens. There must be something messed up with the little motor that turns the dial or something...but nevertheless...it's creepy.

wooo man thats sorta like my story

i was tearing down my walll the other day and inside the wall was a 12 pack of beer and some more empty ones

i think i have people living in my wall

My TV picks up radio as well but thats not the really funny thing, the funny thing is my old toaster picked up police radio lol, I would love to know how.

My TV turns on by itself... Now that's ****ing weird

Heheh, Reminds me of a while bk when I was listening to music on my older PC and sudenly I get this voice saying "Yeah, I'm near there. I'll take it."

An I'm thinking WTF

Then I hear a car drive past outside and its a taxi!
Somehow my PC had picked up his radio frequency
**** knows how.... MY PC doesnt even have a TV tunner...... :rolling:

Wooooo... it's the Haunted Appliance Thread. Reminds me of that old story about the lady who's dentures would pick up radio waves.

There was a report a while back about a metal toilet that picked up Jazz FM or something... rather pleasant while you're on the bog, I'd imagine.

I was setting up my old Amiga 500 once, just after we'd moved, and my grandfather was setting up our television. I'd just got up to the point where the "Insert Workbench" screen was showing, and my grandfather had nothing but static showing on the TV screen (the cable wasn't in yet), and I heard him calling me. We could both dimly see, in the middle of the static on the TV, a ghost of the Amiga's display. Weird, eh?

I think it has something to do with the fact that any length of conductive material has the potential to act as an aeriel.

WRUUUAW!!!

Does anyone else hear a high pitch little ring in the back of their head when a T.V. in on?
Its funny because I know when a T.V. is on in another room or not because I can hear a little high pitched noise. Weird :P

I get that. It weirds people out when I tell them I know that they've got an electrical item on, even if they're wearing headphones (for a PC or TV), or have the sound muted.

Oh and when I play Halo my monitor makes that high pitched ringing and it's ****ing aweful!

Yeah, I got that too, my router whines too :P

By the time I'm old enough to be going deaf, I'll probably have cybernetic ear implants.

Sometimes I can hear the whine of a TV from the complete opposite end of the house, there's a TV there, and when I go to check on it it fades and turns out to be nothing =/

the barn over the road was on fire so the fire engines came in, I wasnt particually bothered and was listening to my mp3s on the computer with earphones on, then suddenly voices poppped in my head and they were very loud so i teared out my earphones and turned down volume but them back in and i realised i could listen to the radio conversations of the fireman, i had fun spying on them then got bored and carried on with my buisness

Once there was a police-razzia near my house and all of a sudden I could hear their police-radios through my speakers. Then all of a sudden some cop said:
"See my bloody asshole? Yes? Stick it in..."
I couldn't stop crying for a month

You guys got nothing. My friend GH0ST his phone near his comp, when you dial a number (regardless of the number) you hear Hindi back ground music. (i think it could be terrorist propaganda. but hey thats just me. rly wierd.

I can hear that, but other people can't :(

It's like a low ring noise then it gets louder until the sound comes on.

and I know when a T.V is on in a room if I'm walking down a hallway or something, I can hear a break in the silence...

my mom bought some of those electronic pest control things when I was about ten. Theyre supposed to make some kind of hypersonic noise to scare away mice and bugs. Only problem was I could hear em. No one else in my family could, but it drove me nuts. I wish my braces could pick up the radio though....

My friends tv did that over and over one night when we were spending the night at his house. Really freaky.
