my game started out fine, until i saw gman's face.

his eyes were EMPTY! white!!

after that, i saw that everybody (exept the Civil Protection people) had no or completly white eyes!! AHH!

anyway, i have 1.7ghz cpu
256mb ram
8mb video card (forgot brand)
hardware directx 7
software 9.0c

^ i know it sucks but its a laptop so i can't upgrade it.

plz help.

scary.

An 8MB video card probably uses your 256MB of system memory to store all the textures. When you don't have enough memory available to store textures in, some of the textures won't show up. Do you have a setting in your BIOS called AGP aperature size? Might try increasing the size of that and see if that helps. I'm not very laptop savvy, but I know some folks have added memory to theirs, unless 256MB is the maximum for your laptop. If only the eyes don't show up, you can't be too terribly short on texture memory. Even with adding more system memory, it might not fix the problem, so I would save that as a last resort. Try turning of all programs/applications that are running in the background that might be using your system memory and see if that helps also.

I have exactly the same problem on my laptop. The specs just aren't good enough to play that kinda game. Laptops are more for business use, not for gaming use.

Saying that, "desktop replacements" are getting quite popular. A good example is a Toshiba Qosimo laptop which would probably beat the spec of most dekstop PCs and play most games a lot better. They look like laptops, but they're bigger and more geared towards gaming and more extensive applications and usage.

yeah, but they're also uber expensive...

Um... I would say the solution to this situation is to ditch the laptop, and buy a new PC altogether. That seriously is probably going to be the only way for you to play that game dude... Unless you can live with the bad textures and low screen res (how the hell does that game even PLAY on an 8mb video card?!)

will do.

thanks, i guess....

anyway, i was suprised that it did play too.

but loading takes 1 ~ 2 min per map.

20 ~ 30fps average

Hand me your laptop so I can put it out of it's misery.
