Hello, I'm a fairly new valve game player but it's been a year atleast.
Anyway, I've been thinking of an idea for a mod for a while, I'm not suggesting this is my ideas because i may (or may not just covering my ass) have accidently picked up this idea, i don't know.

Okay no flaming if this kind of mod already exists but ill put down my idea, and flame if you want.

The mod idea: A world war 2 mod where a axis vs allied scenario, There is a bland map, in which there is a town. For example a carentan style map. 1 person from each team is a commander from a top down view (like NS), each commander is given a certain amount of stuff, for example rocket launchers, sand bags, mg's etc. The commander of the defending team has 1 minute to decide where the defence is set up (putting mg's in windows and setting up fox holes etc) while the attacking commander choses how the squad is spread up and choses in which direction (of many in the commander view) for the attacking team in which to advance. The rest of the team is first person shooter and they play the game like DoD or CoD etc, the commander caries on issuing orders as the battle commences.

Anyway yeah the commander is choosen each round by top scores etc (or decided by player ranks on steam etc).

I believe the source engine could easily provide this type of experience.

Thoughts please. :smoking:

I'm not good at flamming so i'll let others do it but i'll make a usefull comment: This is not a good idea. WW2 = overused theme, Commander thing = has been done in NS and other games. Result: Nothing new, nothing interesting, should not be made.

Seriously if you really want to do a WW2 MOD I suggest you to put alot of efforts in a design doc and think about someting that nobody has done before because there are way too much WW2 MODs. You'll have to think again about the whole concept of your MOD from scratch.

Meh, I personally love WW2-based mods. Keep 'em coming! ;)

I'm pretty sure that they all died. So it'd be kind of hard to play them, even if you were intent on playing every single one. :)
