im thinking of upgrading something for christmas.. any suggestions for about $200 usd? i dont think i really need one but suggestions help thanks

hmm maybe sounds good, but i might want to get a new monitor this 5 year old 14 inch compaq monitor is old, not to mention the refresh fate is super low

Save-up a little more then for an NEC 22".... You wont be disappointed. Remember the only thing you get from all that blazing hardware besides sound is what you see on the monitor.

Kinda like putting moped tires on a ferrari.

Yep, the monitor is one of those things people generally skimp on.
It's a shame.

Even a good 19" Montior will be great. Look for a Flatscreen, not the same as Flatpanel since they are still CRTs.
