X1900xtx

still doesnt beat the geforce 7800 gt price for preformance

hell i could get two 7800 gt's for that price and sli them

"now taking preorders"

ATI's release schedules are to be taken with a large truckload of salt. I ordered some X800s when they were apparently available, and it took 9 months for ATI to fulfil my order.

Agreed. But this is the same for the 7800GTX. Way expensive.

scroll down to the other products. I count 7 'In Stock' X1900 models.

I'm still not convinced.

heh ATI main headquarters are a few miles from where I live ..you'd think that'd make it easy to find ati products but no ..still have yet to see a x1800xt in stock

the reviews look promising but the price point is way to high ..but in some benchmarks at 1600 x 1200 the x1900xt is getting 20%-40% the frame rates as a 7800gtx 256 mb ..that's pretty impressive ..but the price, wow

yeah its a good card no doubt, im just not willing to fork out 600 bucks for a graphics card.

eh, as nice as this sounds, I'm still holding out for a DX10 card, even though I would love the performance increase over my X800 XT, I just dunno whether it's worth the cash

yeah I'm waiting as well. Although that means I will probably be holding out on upgrading the rest of my system as well. :(

Asus, are there any requirements other than a DX10 GPU for the Vista/DX10 combo?

Vista will have a classic mode but to be able to display the new UI effects you will need DX9.

I'm in the same boat, I think I'm just going to upgrade all of it at once - and make a kickass computer which will stay kickass for about 2 months

I ve two 7800GTX in SLI mod............. It runs any game including UE3.0...

I m getting 8800GTX (two of them) by the end of this year LOL

Care to send those 7800s my way when you do?

8...8..00...GTX ?

*googles*

I'm not really impressed that much. I can't wait to see the 8800GT :naughty:

No Stern, Gorgon is loaded.

Whatever. Looks very sexy, but it's not getting my money. DX10 ftw.

nah m8, I m......

I follow thse steps:

1-sell my two 7800gtx on ebay for £350-400
2-8800GTX once it comes out, it cost around £400 for one card so I got one for the price of my old cards
3-I keep saving money for a peroid of 6 months to buy the second card.

Simple aye ?? :D :D

Cool. However, I'm waiting until Nvidia and ATI roll out their DX10 line of cards.

If 8800's dont sell for about £6-700 per card it will be :dozey:

TomsHardware fools!
Though the mobo that they're running the GeForces on is kinda crappy...
:<

Anyway, this new ATi card is lookin pretty nice.
The XT is cheaper than some 7800gtx's and it out performs them.

Which isnt really fair since the 1900's are 512.

Maaan, i only recently got a 1X800XT !!! And it's no longer ati's top end card !!!! Having said, it equals the 7800GTX, and in some cases betters, and for less money !! (mine cost £320). So all in all i would have to say it provides good bang per buck as it were, although the 7800GT takes the bang per buck crown. I think i'll be waiting to upgrade until DX10 becomes commonplace and DX10 cards are readily available.

I'm just waiting to get two of the upcoming Quad XXXX99000-ZR Ultra Uber 1337 X-tremely Limited Crossf1re Edition with quad cores and quadruple X-treme kooling X-hausts.

I'll just use my 7800 til then.

These prices are getting out of hand. At this rate the X2X00XTX XXXL () will be like £600

Yeah, the first couple months of any new video card is horridly price-gouged.
:<

I feel sorry for the fools that buy into that "bleeding edge" crap.
Have fun wasting hundreds of dollars.

I do miss the days when there are basicly 3 or 4 cards and that's it. Such as when the GeForce 4 was out. MX, 4200, 4400, 4600. There were only 2 Geforce 3 cards I think...Ti200 and Ti500. No Pro, XT, Ultra or anything like that.

I also miss the days of cards that didnt have 50 different models.

Like I had an ATi Radeon 64MB... thats all it was.
Now Video Card producers pump out a bunch of iterations of the same card, just with maybe 50MHz more on the core and memory clocks, and charge $100 more.

*sigh*

*sigh sigh sigh*

I want some new company to come along and blow away nVida & ATi with some super high-tech, low priced card...

*siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*

*puts some more dimes in piggie bank*
